ARIES MYTHOLOGY

SNIPPETS FROM ORIGINS OF THE ZODIAC

The sign of Aries (Latin for 'Ram') has led the tropical zodiac since its codification around the second century BCE, when the constellation of Aries rose with the vernal equinox, marking the beginning of the astrological year. However, due to axial precession, Aries anciently brought up the zodiacal rear. Taurus began the year in the earliest Mesopotamian records and Aries signified its culmination.

While the Sun travels through energetic and passionate Aries, we turn our attention to the themes of Action and Confidence. The fire in our souls burns endlessly with the warm energy of this Cardinal Fire sign. Aries Season welcomes an annual fresh start. There is so much change...

Below are ways to work with Aries Season:


1. SELF-LOVE RITUAL
Since Venus will be retrograde for most of the season, this ritual will support some self-love. Look in a mirror and find something to celebrate in yourself, your face, your eyes. Light a candle and write your observations, giving yourself compliments or notes of self-assurance. Place those notes on the mirror as a reminder of the love you can show yourself daily.


2. CANDLE LIGHT REFLECTIONS
Mars rules Aries and has connections to Tuesday. Every Tuesday evening, burn a your favourite candle and write your weekly inspirations in the Magic of I. 2026 planner or in your own journal. Let the fire from the candle ignite your inspiration.


3. SOAK UP THE SUN
The Sun is exalted in Aries, so take time to (safely) soak up the brilliant rays of the Sun during Aries Season. Spend at least 30 minutes in the sunshine. Try moving your body if you can do so and feel the radiance on your skin.


4. ASTROLOGICAL NEW YEAR RITUAL
Embody the energy of Aries as the new year begins. Light a red or black candle. While the candle burns, take time to journal some intentions that you want to carry into this year on small pieces of paper. Put those papers in a fire safe vessel and use the flame of the candle to set them on fire. Once they finish burning, bury the ashes into the ground.


From fire to ash, we are born again, brought back to life by flames of desire. In the renewal, heat returns to our bodies and blood courses through our veins. We reawaken the passion in our hearts and embody the beauty of our new sense of being. We are restored, a light that can never be extinguished, burning brilliantly forevermore.
