The sun enters Sagittarius, awakening exploratory impulses. Over the next month, we are encouraged to think bigger about our present condition and expand our perspective around issues we might otherwise write off as unnavigable.
Immediately upon entering Sagittarius, the sun locks into an auspicious sextile with Pluto, which has recently moved into Aquarius for the long haul. This alignment sets the tone for the rest of the sun’s passage. Both Sagittarius and Aquarius stress the significance of *vision*. They support future-gazing and underscore the necessity of change (in attitude, mindset and practice) while in pursuit of a mission. We are called to place our feet on 'The Path' while remaining amenable to deviating into side quests, should they make themselves known.
They say that the journey is more important than the destination. In this particular case, it may be that we will not be well-resourced when we make it to our destination if we haven’t picked up tools, tricks of the trade and travel companions along the way. Deviating from the trail will inform our subsequent reality. It will shape our awareness of the container we’re operating within and give us the confidence to find our true bearings using landmarks instead of step-by-step directions for orientation.
All planetary roads now lead back to Jupiter through their dispositor chains, emphasizing the role of faith in the month ahead. This faith might be temporarily tested when the sun and Jupiter oppose on December 7/8. Self-examination is necessary, and inclinations to excess should be checked. Fortunately, an assist from Saturn will help to keep expectations reasonable while making clear the benefits of keeping to our convictions in the face of overwhelming temptation.
