DREAMS, TRANSCENDENCE + INTUITION
Virgo full moon illumination:
‘What I focus on becomes reality, I choose to focus my thoughts on cultivating healthy habits’
As Pisces season has rounded its final bend there has been a sense of urgency to cultivate more joy. And joy does not always come naturally, especially when there is so much going on in the world. It has to be cultivated. Space needs to be created to let it blossom. Intentions need to be set to keep it on path, and the mind needs adjusting when it has run ragged, just as the body does.
I have had to continually remind myself to find the positives recently, to lift up out of a hole that has felt long and deep. I tend to naturally sit on the shaded side generally, I can see through the fluff of inauthentic positivity far too clearly for my own good (Mercury in Cap doesn’t fail me there). So there needs to be effort, to shift focus and remain positive, and to find MORE JOY. Joy is inherently there and available in every moment if you dare to look. Even in death.
This is where the gift of Pisces mysteriously appears from within the fog, unnexptected sometimes with little gifts and reminders of the brighter side, the completeness of ALL experiences, the trusting of the universe and its happenings. We all have those friends who are a bright spark of joy and sing reminders to keep our heads up. We also have that within us, that spark that reminds us to keep going, keep finding the magic, keep creating, keep dreaming, keep loving.
As the Virgo full moon rolls in, it brings necessary practicality to balance our day dreaming, sometimes too practical and strips the gentle haze of a dream completely away and the world looks less colourful. The gift is in the balance! Practical dreamers get shit done. If your inner Virgo is aloof, wake it up. If your inner Virgo is far too hardcore, remember you are allowed to dream, to get lost in it all. Whatever the moon pulls to the surface, notice it and eliminate if it's not of use. Use this time to organise the dreamscape with practicality, to recognise what health balances need to be made and to clean out the junk.
As this is the final moon of the zodiac year, dream up your moons ahead. And as we transition into the next season of Aries, take action.

Full Moon Virgo at 27° 40’
Astrologer Colin Bedell says:
Adam Grant wrote, “Identity is a decision, not a destiny.” Brevity is the Virgo’s love language. So I thought I’d put the bottom line of the Full Moon in Virgo on Friday in front of us immediately. Grant wrote in the same post, “It’s depressing to ruminate about the doors that closed yesterday. It’s liberating to look for the doors that open today. You can’t change who you’ve been. It’s never too late to choose who you want to become.”
I don’t know a more liminal, “both/and” axis in Astrology than the one between Pisces and Virgo. We only have the annual Full Moon in Virgo when the Sun is transiting Pisces. In Pisces Season, we are thinking about the doors that closed because Pisces Season is when we find completion. When reviewing the doors that closed - whether by our own doing or not - it can be easy to ruminate and engage in critical self-talk about some of the decisions we made that shut those doors. We can think identity is destiny. But it’s a decision. How?
Right around Virgo Season’ 21, I finally got around to reading James Clear’s Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones. I borrowed it from a Virgo friend of course. Embarrassingly, I honestly didn’t think about “habits” as a Virgo topic. The Universe gave me an education on habits as mutable-earth despite my readiness level. When it comes down to it, identity is a decision we make with our systems. Clear writes, “..“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” And our systems are the collections of habits we commit to. These systems are what we lean on when we realize Pisces Season closed some doors. Octavia Butler wrote, “First forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you're inspired or not. Habit will help you finish and polish your stories. Inspiration won't. Habit is persistence in practice.”
So the Full Moon in Virgo helps us arrange our systems as a collection of habits and that way we can put persistence in practice. Another Full Moon in Virgo wisdom is, start small. Before you arrange a routine or system of five to ten mandatory action items, pick one. Start small. Even if it’s just making the decision that identity is not destiny but decision. Pluto will trine the Full Moon in Virgo giving this Full Moon a powerful, supportive container for personal transformation where we need it. Especially if we’re being extremely honest with ourselves and others about our own personal work in progress. The Full Moon will also trine the North Node in Taurus inspiring us to situate the values that promote our habits.
Remember to grieve the doors that have closed and keep a faithful eye on the doors that are opening. Hold on to the habits that will help you walk through those doors and decide the identity you want to become when you walk through the others side.
