Leo new moon reflections:
‘I boldly love myself exactly the way I am so I may inspire others to do the same’
I’m coming out of my dark moon cave to briefly touch on this new moon, but will leave you in the trusty hands of Colin Bedell as I honour some inward time.
The Leo new moon arrives exactly on the peak of Lion’s Gate Portal.
The Lion’s Gate has longstanding connections to ancient Egyptian times (and beyond) that have been honoured for millennia. It is the alignment of Earth and Sirius (the brightest star, being 26 x brighter than our sun). Sirius or the ‘Great Central Sun’ has the most significant connection to humans across time.
This alignment to the ‘Source of Higher Mind’ is a time of greater cosmic and spiritual energy and activation, and arriving on the new Leo moon, an influx of new energy, primarily heart focused. Don’t be surprised if you experience symptoms of tiredness or other.
The new moon is activating the Saturn Uranus square which is why it brings the familiar tensions we have been experiencing around topics at the forefront of our lives.
Look to matters of the heart, you may see news articles, hear it in conversations, notice ‘heart’ as a buzzword.
With the sun and moon in Leo together, squaring Uranus and widely apposing Saturn, energy can be unstable. What needs to be transformed to reach deeper into the heart, our truth, our true self? What needs to shift to allow more opening?
In this moment can we realise that we are all individual expressions of the divine. We all deserve love, respect, to be seen, and to experience abundance and joy.
Keep the light on, your sun shining, a sense of humour, be curious and kind. Follow your creative desires.
And if you can this new moon, get quiet, go inward and listen with your heart to wisdom that travels through eons from the beginning of time to the end.

Astrologer Colin Bedell says:
Natal Mercury in Leo Marianne Williiamson wrote in A Return to Love, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?... There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do... And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
What kind of thoughts, emotions, and deliberate behavior choices would we make if we took Marianne’s idea into our Leo ruled hearts? And to expand on this lunation’s moonthly theme; what kind of impact would I have on others if I had the audacity and the courage to love myself exactly as I am now? And now I want you to think about a person who has a way of being that when they walk into a room or speak with you, their grounded confidence works like a permission slip for you too to step into your most worthy space. I want you to know that you also can be that person for others. And Saturn, which is currently retrograde in Aquarius, forming an opposition to this New Moon in Leo also furthers this action. It wants us to see how our capacity to cultivate more meaningful self-love is not just a personal energy for liberation it also invites others to find freedom from fear.
With Venus and Mars in Virgo, I’ve read extensively on the power of habits and the help of routines, rituals which support our most optimized selves. On the New Moon in Leo, Venus forms an opposition to Neptune in Pisces and situates the role of our habits, routines, and rituals as methods for us to integrate Leo ruled self-love. So if you’ve been looking for a sign to get back into specific strategies which support emotional, psychological, and spiritual health, this is the sign to do it!
Another crucial theme I want to explore with you under the New Moon in Leo is the idea of fear. So many are feeling afraid of the prolonged uncertainty of COVID, the fear of anticipatory grief and ambiguous loss, and so I want to make the implicit explicit here and say that if you are feeling afraid, this is normal. And also, A Course in Miracles teaches us that fear is not an escape from fear. Only love is. Love is to fear what light is to dark. And so I suggest under this New Moon in Leo to situate the most loving perception on all personal, relational, and professional outcomes as a fantastic way to be less afraid of your own greatness and to inspire others to do the same.
