Capricorn full moon illumination:
‘I heal the familial wound by actively communicating my needs'
This full moon is the closest the moon is to the earth all year. Some reflections follow...
Like a magnet on our heads, drawing out goals, ambitions, projects, responsibilities, work ethics, foundations, life lessons.
Reevaluating the structures and systems that work, and do not work.
The ones that don’t are highlighted a little more with Pluto close by digging up the graves of force vs allow.
What if society was built on the wisdom that our goals were self nourishment and love first and foremost? How different would our worlds be.
To not be mass generalised as cogs in the wheel of time, governed by broken systems that value productivity over longevity and vitality.
'To learn to mother oneself, is to learn to mother the world. From a cup that is filling and full, can it then overflow more.'
Imagine how nature would respond. With strong roots and bones, the capacity to support greater and more sustainable systems from every angle would be a natural unfolding. No force, just allowance, a softening and opening to greater abundance.
Perhaps that is the true gift of the Capricorn Cancer axis - the accomplishment of deep self nourishment and love. And all structures built around this supports slow, meaningful growth that fractals outwards.
To break free of the current timeline is to administer radical nourishment and love. Things simply will stop working the way they currently do if this is the goal.
That is what is needed to midwife us into a new world. We are setting up the foundations for generations to come, and what an honour it is, so let us treat it as so.

Full Moon Capricorn at 21° 21’
Astrologer Colin Bedell says:
There’s a mountain you need to climb. And this Full Moon in Capricorn wants to help. A year and a half ago, Astrologer Dawn Harrison reminded me that when there’s a Capricorn transit, there’s a mountain we need to climb. Dawn beautifully asked me, “What’s your mountain?” So I’ll ask you - what’s your mountain? It could be: healing family wounds by communicating needs, breaking patterns, taking responsibility and making amends, moving on without clear closure. Your mountain could be many things and this Full Moon in Capricorn wants you to take the first reach to the ascent.
When I think of Capricorn, I also think of the work of Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Lewis. Dr. Lewis is an associate professor of history, art, architecture and African American studies at Harvard University. In her work, The Rise: Creativity, the Gift of Failure, and the Search for Mastery, she wrestles with the idea of “Mastery” and I want to suggest that Mastery is a Capricorn ruled concept. Dr Lewis writes, “Mastery requires endurance. Mastery, a word we don’t use often, is not the equivalent of what we might consider its cognate—perfectionism—an inhuman aim motivated by a concern with how others view us. Mastery is also not the same as success—an event-based victory based on a peak point, a punctuated moment in time. Mastery is not merely a commitment to a goal, but to a curved-line, constant pursuit.” You can see the Capricorn themes here because as the one and only cardinal-earth sign, Capricorn initiates devotion to a constant pursuit. There is a constant pursuit in your life this Full Moon in Capricorn wants to initiate you for. It requires endurance and the willingness to experience “Grit”. Dr Lewis explains, “Grit is not just simple elbow-grease term for rugged persistence. It is an often invisible display of endurance that lets you stay in an uncomfortable place, work hard to improve upon a given interest, and do it again and again.” Again and again, in constant pursuit. That’s Capricorn.
These ideas are supported in the Full Moon’s chart because of its opposition to Mercury in Cancer and so we’re invited to stay in an emotionally uncomfortable place in pursuit of the mountain we need to climb. Additionally, Uranus is forming a trine and Neptune is sextiling the Full Moon so there’s this idea of invisible, spiritual support for this cause in support of our liberation. In support of us reaching the top of the mountain and feeling like we can finally exhale. Take the first step, reach your arm up to begin the climb, and let this Full Moon help you achieve the mastery and endurance required to be free from the past.
