You see, my best friend died in a freak accident eight years ago. I was marked permanently by that experience, not just because of her death, but because of the way 'life' moved through us the days after. In the presence of death, and its rigorous honesty, it’s as if life’s falsehood(s) can’t even emerge. Through death, you have your pulse on what it means to be alive. The full rapture of grief and grace. So I will always remember the energy around her family, the funeral, our friends and that energy was 'life'. Life in spite of, Life because of Death.
