Slowly resurfacing after swimming in the depths of Scorpio’s world.
Bringing back reclaimed parts of the self that were buried under life happening, conditioning, and a long pause of real connection; that I’m sure we have all experienced in some form or another over these last few years.
Bringing these gifts from the subterranean layers into the light, with new adoration for the ability to deep dive, and choosing to seep into.
When we work with what each season / archetype brings with awareness, profound shifts happen.
Dancing with the shadow is not easy, but acutely necessary for growth and integration of all facets of oneself - a lifelong journey and discovery.
Scorpio’s depth leads to Sagittarius’ truth. And through the realms of the underworld we must go to find it. Like a gemstone on an alter in a crypt glowing brightly, hidden in the heart of hearts. We absorb its clarity and piercing beauty, and watch the ripple effects of truth shift the timeline.
The centaur reminds us to take what we have gleamed and aim sights in a new direction, one that feels right, more aligned with this new truth in our hearts. Weaving hope and possibility into every pore as we set off on a new adventure with a new vision.

New Moon Sagittarius at 01° 37’

Leave it to our Sagittarius leader Kerry to name the most poignant, New Moon in Sagittarius centering thought: “The spirit of hope is born through optimism. I plant new seeds of hope in all that I do.” (Editor note: this was actually Evelyn Zuel's word magic). I never thought of hope having a spirit until now, 2022’s New Moon in Sagittarius. It’s such a relevant Sagittarius thought because I think “Hope” is a mystical experience. That’s why, like most things mystical - it’s grossly misunderstood and misapplied. Which is often why I think “Sagittarius” is grossly misunderstood and misapplied.
I started to see this first-hand at the start of COVID-19. Whenever there was a Sagittarius transit - and there were many as the South Node transited Sag from May 2020 until January 2022 - or I had to write a Sagittarius horoscope, I struggled to contextualize the sign of exploration and education while the world was in lockdown. From there, I started to see “Sagittarius” as the personification of the Marcel Proust quote, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” Now I see Sagittarius as a new set of eyes, a new vision. A new spirit of hope born through optimism.
While it does help, we don’t actually need to go to new countries or campuses to take a voyage of discovery. We just need to examine what stops us from seeing what could be. Sagittarius is the discovery within our thinking that helps us find what Viktor Frankl called the last of the human freedoms...
“The last of the human freedoms: to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way. And there were always choices to make. Every day, every hour, offered the opportunity to make a decision, a decision which determined whether you would or would not submit to those powers which threatened to rob you of your very self, your inner freedom; which determined whether or not you become the plaything to circumstance, renouncing freedom and dignity…”
This is a spiritual decision. To be visited by the spirit of Hope. Perhaps, that is what you can ask under the New Moon in Sagittarius? To say, “Universe, I am willing to be visited, guided, and led by the spirit of Hope to all circumstances, situations, events, and relationships that serve my highest good and the highest good of all people involved.”
Speaking of all people, this New Moon has some relational dynamics that bear consideration. It is forming a wide conjunction to Venus, meaning we will be inspired to bring new vision and hope to the perception we have for and around others. Perhaps, we can go somewhere beyond “right v wrong, good v bad” because we let the spirit of Hope take us to a third option. It’s also forming a trine to transpersonal planets Neptune and Jupiter, inspiring us to bring the spirit of Hope to our collective circumstances. It’s the 11th hour, but it’s not midnight yet, right? Let us have the willingness under this New Moon in Sagittarius to plan new seeds of hope personally, relationally, and collectively in all that we do.
