This full moon pulls Jupiter's recent moves into more clarity. We can really feel the presence of this planet under the guise of Sagittarius.

Optimism and possibilities are heightened. Expansion and energy are keywords. Our physical worlds and spaces, evolving.

What has been growing within since the eclipses? What has eased, dropped in, or fallen away to open space for something else?

As we raise our bows and aim our arrows under this Sagittarius full moon, utilise the access to the very outer limits of the beliefs you would usually fall back upon, and adventure into new territory.

The unknown is ripe with endless possibilities and we have a choice to readjust our attitudes towards something that might have previously felt stuck. This can create some surface tension but ultimately for the benefit of new perspectives and new wisdom.

Dare to dream and the path well-travelled becomes a lot more interesting and fun.

To get right to the point on the Sagittarius arrow, when I think of the mutable fire sign, I think of our final freedom. Since Sagittarius is the final fire sign, it’s the final freedom. The opportunity to respond to what’s happening and choose to choose. It would be very Sagittarius to quote other scholars and find cross disciplinary themes so here’s one by Sagittarius Moon Viktor E. Frankl who wrote in his seminal work Man’s Search for Meaning, “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” For context, Frankl asserted this idea having spent three years in concentration camps during World War II.

So what Sagittarius wants us to understand is that our final freedom is choosing one’s attitude and choosing one’s way. What I find so complicated about this idea is how deeply confronting it is. Maybe that’s why the Truth in Sagittarius is portrayed as a weapon of the bow and arrow. For distinction, I’m not advocating good vibes only, spiritual bypassing, or denial of difficulty and/or limitation in any way shape or form. Though I am wondering what it would mean for us to stand within the complicated circumstances of our lives that sometimes feel too fixed, too permanent and choose to choose? Choose an attitude, interpretation, and path that feels different? An attitude and plan that is generative and hopeful? When it comes to “Hope”, I know many of us - myself included - have had hope make a fool out of us. I’m asking you under the Full Moon in Sagittarius to have hope again. Let’s play Sagittarius semantics and see hope the way prominent Jewish philosopher Maimonides did which was, “Hope is the belief in the plausibility of the possible. As opposed to the necessity of the probable.”

When putting it in context, the probable is that climate change is making the environment uninhabitable but the possible is that we can do something about it in big and small ways. Stand in the probable and see the possible. I think that’s the most confrontational, necessary Sagittarius survival skill we have. It feels like we’re living in the eleventh hour but it’s not midnight yet. So within this space, how do you claim what’s already yours, the final freedom, and choose an attitude which generates a different plan? The Full Moon’s chart has two compelling aspects that further these ideas. Starting with Jupiter newly in Taurus forming a sextile to Saturn in Pisces. This aspect affirms to us that while hope is a feeling, hope is also a plan. It also inspires us to make hope less abstract and more actionable. Additionally, Mars newly in Leo forms a square to Jupiter reminds us of the discomfort related to audacious steps towards a hopeful life. Don’t let the discomfort and potential disappointment from others prevent you from taking the small steps necessary towards making your life more fulfilling, protected, and connected. You’re in charge of this final freedom.

When you defend perceived ureal limitation or when others try to push you out of the final freedom, it’s a violation of your own free will. Let this Full Moon generate a different attitude and actions that expand your thinking and vision in life-affirming ways.
