Gemini New Moon at 16° 17’

Can I ask you a question? Do you ask enough questions? The New Moon in Gemini doesn’t seek answers; it craves curiosity expressed through dialogue and open-ended questions. It encourages us to inquire, “Are you stating an opinion or a fact?” when someone is persuading, preaching, politicking or even prosecuting. It suggests we begin our own monologues with “I’m just thinking out loud here…” to help listeners distinguish between our opinions and facts.

Over the next twelve years, several planets will transit through Gemini at different times. Currently, Jupiter is in Gemini until June 2025. Following that, Uranus will enter Gemini next spring and remain until 2033. As Uranus completes its transit in Gemini, Saturn and the South Node will also move through the sign of the Twins. This New Moon might be the first of many opportunities for us to reimagine all that Gemini has to offer over the next nine years. Many astrologers, myself included, view the zodiac as a chronological, cumulative narrative. Since 2018, three major transits in Taurus have reshaped our ideas on security. This has been challenging because Taurus values clarity and commitment to security, while Jupiter and Uranus intentionally complicate and confuse us as we transition from the known to the unknown. These Taurus transits have left many of us uncertain about critical questions regarding personal and financial security.

With Jupiter newly in Gemini and supported by this New Moon, the anxiety and fear surrounding security may begin to ease. As we start asking ourselves deeper questions about our lives, the Gemini transits will inspire us to normalize confusion, ambiguity and the early stages of investigation, which often reveal more questions than answers. There may be no finer place to bring curiosity and questions into our lives than in our romantic and intimate relationships. This New Moon is almost precisely conjunct Venus in Gemini, integrating this notion of questioning our connections. To make this less abstract and more actionable, I encourage you to make more of your conversations with loved ones open-ended. As Dr. John Gottman explores, people rarely ask questions, yet it is fundamental to do so. This can help clarify what you mean to each other and explore the nature of your bonds.

A trine between Jupiter and Pluto blesses this New Moon with the power of the air element, giving us all the chance to strengthen our communication skills and listening accuracy so that we can better connect. This is especially important for understanding each others' points of view. We don’t need to find agreement but understanding. Let this New Moon give you the bravery to ask yourself and others the questions that help you adapt to the lives you’re all looking to create together.
