Being the the longest day and shortest night in the Northern hemisphere, and the shortest day and longest night in the Southern hemisphere, it creates a very different energetic experience under the same full moon.
Expansive growth and unfurling as summer blossoms and awakens, or deep internal listening and reflection as we drop further into winter.
But together under this full moon we can expect themes of purpose, responsibility, restructuring and moving around pieces to achieve what we set forth to do.
This may mean letting go of some ideas we had around how this year would pan out, or becoming more realistic around what we are actually capable of with our current resources, what was more of a dream than a possibility for a particular timeline, and how much energy we have to distribute across all of the things.
Or the latter, perhaps we have underestimated ourselves and capabilities, and it is time to step more into our power, or in Cancerian language: soften into our truth.
Realising what is most important and of most value that aligns to your purpose is helpful in how to listen to the messages of this full moon and structure focus for the next half of the year.
Realising that dreams do require actions and not just wishful thinking to become manifest is a gift that Capricorn brings us, which sometimes is hard to swallow if we are used to just endless wishing, rather than believing - and actioning.
Every little step you take towards something you desire is an action, and if one of those actions can be celebrating your successes, your growth and how far you have come on the solstice, that is considered fuel on the fire and gratitude in the heart to keep climbing the mountain, as it is letting the universe know you are ready and present for what is next.
Without these moments of recognition, reflection, self actualisation and celebration, we are all just endlessly consuming our time on earth with one goal after another and no moments to really soak it all in.
Revisit your goals and dreams for 2024 and do a stocktake to recenter and recalibrate.

Full Moon in Capricorn at 01° 07’

This year, we have two Full Moons in Capricorn — a first since 2005 — with the initial one on June 22nd. With this in mind, I urge you to take a radically honest inventory of your perceived limitations. Do you think, 'If only I didn't have this…' or 'If only I had that…but I can’t because [this/them/they/that]'? The first Full Moon in Capricorn exposes these inactions and the choice to not choose differently. Since nothing external is deciding for you, you must decide whether to take 100% responsibility for your life; allowing you to then witness the rapid and powerfully positive ripple effects of your actions. Remember, Capricorn is the mountain-climbing Sea-Goat, which begs the question, 'What mountain do you need to climb?' We all need to start scaling the heights of ownership, accountability and responsibility for the part we play in creating some undesirable outcomes. We receive far too much societal permission to point fingers, blame, deflect, deny and distract ourselves from the choices we make that create the ripple effects we experience. Perhaps that’s why we have two Full Moons in Capricorn this year — to support us in realizing the consequences of not taking responsibility so we can begin climbing the mountain the Sea-Goat is pointing to.
This Full Moon is opposite both Venus and Mercury in Cancer, which could challenge but also nurture us to communicate responsibly in our relationships—arguably where it's most difficult to do so. When we choose to clean up our side of the street and support others in doing the same, that’s when we can begin to see some of the best changes Capricorn offers. Venus and Mercury will sextile Mars in Taurus, so although there’s discomfort around Capricorn accountability, Mars helps us stabilize and even find greater connection in our relationships as we work on our reliability and consistency.
Since this is the first of two Full Moons, I want you to start choosing 100% responsibility as your stance this month. Catch yourself when you give too much power to perceived limitations. Stay open to learning new approaches and accept tough but healing feedback that may help strengthen your character. Bootcamp begins this Full Moon and perhaps by the second Full Moon in Capricorn, we’ll receive the medals of accomplishment on the top of the mountain we’ve dreamed of.
