Capricorn new moon reflections:
‘I grow at my pace with compassion, I rewrite the systems that no longer serve me’
New year. New moon. New perspective.
We begin the year on a dark moon, ready to be renewed in the practical and ambitious sign of Capricorn.
This new moon is a potent time for setting intentions, structuring goals and listing actionable steps for the year ahead if you feel inclined to do so.
And rewriting systems. Yes. This process is usually initiated from a place of something being uncomfortable, so use that as fuel to redesign something that wasn't working.
We have access to big ideas, structured, grounded and productive planning skills Capricorn graces us with, it is the perfect time to utilise them, or even to just start the process prior to Mercury turning retrograde (14 Jan) where you can review and revisit them.
Not feeling it? Making a tiny commitment to get something down on paper can go a long way and may open the flood gates for more to roll out. Consider this a gentle nudge towards the first step of creating the life that you want to unfold over the next 6-12 months (or longer legacy thoughts - v. capricornian).
If you can't 'see' or 'feel' ahead, start with intentions for the week, then a month, and grow over time from there. We are supported by the heavens to dream big at the moment, so if it comes with ease, why not utilise it.
I usually start with a brain dump / giant list of all the things I would like, how I want to live, what to let go of, all the goals, how I want to feel etc, and then categorise them over a few days, to sometimes weeks, into 8 areas of life to break down into actionable steps. Then revisit them throughout the year for refinement. I use the yearly intention setting workbook in the 2022 Astro Planner.
The solstice in March is a beautiful time to move into action, so don't feel like you have to rush this process and get everything started asap - so things that need to be released can be - to create space for true insight and clarity. This is not a race, release the pressure.

And remember, just EXISTING is enough. It's been a big few years. Rest when you need, carve your own path your way.
2022 is already feeling more balanced. It will be a pleasure sharing it with you all x

Astrologer Colin Bedell says:
Happy New Year! Happy New Moon! There couldn’t be a better lunation near the start of the new year than the New Moon in Capricorn to begin 2022. The cardinal-earth sign; ruled by integrity-driven Saturn which together has us all meditating on our systems for growth and responsibility.
I caution to mountain-climb right into Capricorn’s prevalent symbolism of resilience and perseverance given the state of our world. I’ve seen many voices and scholars I admire who remind us that surviving a pandemic is a triumph in and of itself. I couldn’t agree more. And we’re all doing the best we can with what we have. So let us normalize this very time-specific juxtaposition with a Capricorn lens of honoring where we’re emotionally, cognitively, and behaviorally at while strategizing ways to go higher; to climb the metaphorical Capricorn mountain. More on that Capricorn juxtaposition later. But again, let me remind you - your worth, your value is inherently intrinsically given. You were given a birthright for love, joy, and belonging. That can never be broken or changed. And there are possibly some thought-forms, emotional habits, and relational choices that you would like to change in order to become the person you want to be? That’s what the New Moon in Capricorn wants to know. It also wants you to know that you can rewrite systems for personal development just like the New Moon affirmation inspires us to think about. How would your system improve if you saw worthiness as your birthright so that you can grow at your own pace and let that conviction drive you more responsible and integrity driven behavior?
To the point of the Capricorn juxtaposition, we often discuss the symbolism of Sea Goat as the ambitious, resilient, and concentrated earth energy focusing on goal accomplishment. That’s the upper half of the Capricorn Seagoat. Let us remember the lower-half of the Seagoat which can dive deep in the emotion ocean. This topic is supported by Neptune in Pisces sextiling the Venus-Pluto conjunction in the chart of the New Moon. So often we underdevelop that symbolism. But the Seagoat wants us to manage and regulate our emotion - rather than being taken down by it! - as we become the people we’re capable of. So let us name and understand the emotions we’re feeling as we climb the Capricorn mountain. The permission to feel is a valuable foundation that drives meaningful behavior change and success. I can’t imagine a more integrity driven method than normalizing the feelings that are a function of our complicated world today and then reminding us and each other just how resilient we are while we feel what feel. May the New Moon in Capricorn bless each and every one of you with an awe-inspiring view from the top of the mountain you’re meant to climb.

Cancer
Romance, Boundaries, Partnerships & Trust
Opposites really do attract, Cancer. The New Moon in Capricorn is inspiring you to see how your life could become even more meaningful as you attract and understand people who are different from you. Scorpio
Curiosity, Observation, Dialogue & Active Listening
Use your words, Scorpio! The New Moon in Capricorn helps you frame communication in a way that structures your behavior. The New Moon in Capricorn is the great adaption and helps you maintain a sense of embodiment, safety, and security even in these uncertain times. Capricorn
Identity, Desire, Autonomy, & Freedom
Happy Birthday, Capricorn! This New Moon shines just for you. So tell the Universe all your birthday wishes fearlessly so it can get to work on manifesting them for you. Remember to, as Esther Perel teaches us, see “desire” as owning the wanting. You’re allowed to want and own the wanting even if you feel like you haven’t earned or worked for it yet. May all your birthday wishes come true!
Aquarius
Completion, Surrender, Healing & Spiritual Support
Radical responsibility is the name of the game, Aquarius! The New Moon in Capricorn wants you to take ownership of all the small to major parts of your life that need to be changed. So you can have 100% of the power to transform it! It’s hard to change what we’re not owning. So lean on that radical responsibility for the amazing effects just before the start of your season!

Who helps the helper, Pisces? The New Moon in Capricorn wants your intentions on mutual, reciprocal friendship. You’re the first one typically to show up for others. Who shows up for you? Make sure you’re asking for what you want by your friends and then tell the Universe your best case scenario outcomes for friendships so that you can feel more supported by them!
