Pin the fishtail back on the goat! When astrologers talk about Capricorn, we’re talking about the Seagoat — a mythical animal that has the upper body of a mountain-climbing goat and the lower half of a fishtail. When Capricorn is contexted, we often focus on the upper half of this sign: the G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time!), and this sign’s ambition, perseverance and discipline. While true, that’s only half the story of Capricorn’s success. Since we’re in Cancer Season, which is ruled by the Moon and answers to the Moon, this Full Moon in Capricorn is the perfect moment to tell the full story.

One of my favorite parts of reading a Capricorn client’s chart is when I get to show them what the Seagoat is and what it means for the actualization of their astrology. The Capricorns immediately show a sense of relief — that they’re not just these hardworking overachievers, but that there’s a hidden dimension beneath the surface that fuels them. I’ll usually say that Capricorn, to quote Rick Levine, asks, “How do I make ‘the meta’ physical?”When we look at the fishtail in Capricorn, we’re experiencing “the meta”: the human capacity for intuitional knowledge acquisition, dreaming, imagination, conversation with our ancestry and our own creativity. When we talk about the physical, we’re looking to implement the intuition and intention, do what we dream of, live into the legacy of our ancestors, and create from our creativity. So now you can see Capricorn wants to answer, “How do I make ‘the meta’ physical?” The fishtail is the meta and the goat is the physical. This integrative approach showcases Capricorn as more than a stoic, Machiavellian sign — but one deeply committed to making more heaven on earth. So how do we do that? We take take action on the Full Moon illumination. We realize that every step forward towards the future is one pushed by our ancestry. Whether it’s direct and/or an intellectual lineage, we need do nothing but mine the memory that is within our bodies, minds, hearts and souls. While mining, we could also ask, “What kind of fishtail character and goat competence is needed now and who before me has shown the way?”

The Full Moon is trining Mars, newly in helpful Virgo, giving you a small goals only approach to these big questions. When Virgo talks to Capricorn, it’s about setting accurate Virgo ruled expectations around a big Capricorn pursuit of mastery. So try one small goal to commit to that is needed in order for you to step into greater character and competence. Pluto in Aquarius will sextile Neptune in Aries, which gives a powerful reframe around the spiritual communities – which could beneficial around this small goal too. It’s interacting with Venus, newly in Gemini, too, which wants you to open up the conversations – because there will be many you’ll need to open and maintain along the way — to find your way within a community and perhaps bring some of the Capricorn containment to it. So many spaces don’t have supportive guardrails anymore because we don’t want to be proactive with our limits. So this could be a Full Moon where you’ll want to approach the discomfort first so it doesn't pile into leaky containers, resentments and disappointments which could’ve been avoided if you were more head on.

This Full Moon reminds us that the climb up begins in the deep down. The Seagoat teaches that ancestral memory, creative longing and emotional truth shape the ascent. When the fishtail moves in the meta, the goat follows towards the physical. The next step is already forming — rooted in what lives beneath the surface. 


 

Aries

Career, Leadership, Integrity & Discipline

You’re building something long-term, Aries. This Full Moon in Capricorn brings focus to your leadership, your legacy and the discipline that holds it all together. Integrity shapes the impact of your work. Each choice, each system, each step forward becomes part of what you’re known for. Let your ambition come from character. Let your work reflect your deeper commitments. The version of you that leads with intention is already in motion.
