We really need to stop pretending that we’re not all deeply emotional beings. There are so many ways to explore 'Cancer,' but this New Moon reflection reminds me of the confronting truth that every single human being is sentient. It’s easy to imagine we’re more 'emotional' than others — and even in astrological terms, that the water signs have a monopoly on feeling. But the truth is we all experience emotion, we just experience it differently. That’s the key distinction: most of us feel emotion, but the behaviors that follow are wildly varied. I want to get in front of this truth because Cancer, as cardinal water, wants us to take initiative around the fact that if we’re all emotional, we’re more likely to share our vulnerabilities.

What often puts a gag order on those vulnerable shares is the fear: I think it’s just me. I must be the only one. But Cancer, the only cardinal water sign, reminds us it’s not just me — it’s just we.
