BALANCE, RELATIONSHIPS + EQUALITY
Aries full moon illuminations:
‘I integrate my masculine and feminine, the universe balances itself’
The Aries full moon boldens with a force. There has been quite a few things going on the last 10 days which may feel like a hand of god swooping in to help us onwards in a forward motion, even if we aren’t quite ready to move yet. Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury all stationed direct, Mercury is having a field day, and with the help of the growing moon the proverbial flood gates are swinging open.
The swelling of energy and movement will no doubt come up against boundaries that are important to recognise. What has gone unchecked? Where have you melded into the other this Libra season and lost parts of self that could now be highlighted? What agreements have been made that need to be reevaluated to rebalance the power structures between yourself and others? What is coming up around autonomy within the ‘we’? What is ok and not ok.
This is a complicated, layered moment in time that we have to continually maintain balance between focus on the outside (we) and the inside (I). If our focus lies too far into the ‘we’ and loses the seat of self we become ungrounded and don't actually authentically contribute to the whole. If our focus lies too far into the ‘I’ we become self-centred and disconnected from the group. To maintain yin yang balance there has to be a constant play and inter-relationship between one and the other. A relationship that is alive and moving, not stagnant. The seed of self lies within the group. The seed of a group lies within the individual, and so forth.
These considerations and illuminations make us question society and how it works, what and who is it built from. If I dont share the same ideologies, in what world and with whom do I want to create my world with? Where do I fit? What works? What doesn’t? These are big questions that are on many lips. If something doesn’t work, how long do you commit to changing it before it is time to opt out completely to build something new?
This full moon will bring up stuff, conjunct Mars, it is fiery. Take care of your words, adjust your boundaries and recognise everyone is on their own path of discovery. Some you may not agree with, but in those moments consider how you would like to be treated if not agreed with. Kindness and consideration of others AND ourselves is an art form. Make art from it.
Life will always throw challenges at us, it is how we navigate them which forges our experience, remain on the side of optimism which will create a softness this full moon needs.
If your problem has a solution, why get angry.
If your problem has no solution, why get angry
- Chinese proverb
Kerry - Magic of I.

Astrologer Colin Bedell says:
And so we begin, again. The Full Moon in Aries is a commencement since Aries is the first sign in the zodiac. Whenever I think of an Aries transit, I think of The Big Bang. The moment before time was where all of life emerged through fire. Aries is the one and cardinal-fire sign and so we can see - just like the Big Bang - how cardinal-fire Aries gives us full aliveness.
As we discuss often together, Full Moons are full circle moments. They represent an energy of completion. So think back to the New Moon in Aries six months ago on April 11th 2021 and consider how a full circle moment is applying in your lived-experience. Especially under circumstances, situations, relationships, and events that are Aries ruled topics like: autonomy, differentiation, independence, passion, etc. This Full Moon correlates to a completion in these topics. It might be a thought, habit, pattern, and/or relationship you may want to surrender in order to be again and receive Aries ruled freedom. Something(s) is ending so that you can have a Big Bang.
This month’s Moonthly theme asks for integrations among masculine and feminine energies. Maybe what needs to be surrendered is the belief you cannot be both firm and flexible, tough and tender, dynamic and magnetic, grounded and light-hearted, etc. Aries is full aliveness after all and full aliveness is comprised of all the both/ands, nuances, and perceived-contradictions. Give yourself permission to be fully embodied in all the energies that can seem at odds but in actually - when brought together and firmly integrated - opens up a Universe of possibility for you.
I think if we could pinpoint how to approach Aries ruled aliveness, it’s through the owning of wanting. Esther Perel defines “desire” as owning the wanting. And when we are wanting, we full fully alive. We might know this intellectually but do we often live from this learning? There are so many external systems that police and surveil desire. So the Full Moon in Aries may help us detangle what connections we’ve made between desire and danger; and reclaim desire as aliveness. I bring this up because Pluto in Capricorn will square this Full Moon and so we we are experiencing Plutonian shadow work, shadow selves - from the individual, relational, social, and communal - in our approach to desire.
It is my hope that this the Full Moon in Aries helps you begin again in a big bang by owning your wanting. Through seeing desire as, “...the antidote to death.” (Esther Perel). You deserve to feel fully alive. You’re worthy of wanting. It is safe to want. You want to want, again. So let the Full Moon in Aries help you long, yearn, and reach for new things, new places, people, and experiences that bring you back to yourself.
