It’s here! Uranus the great awakener is now in Gemini for the next five months, inspiring intellectual adaptability before retrograding back into Taurus. The last time Uranus was in Gemin was in the mid-late 1940s, which saw the first technological advancements for mobile phone technology, research on DNA, radar, helicopters and the jet engine. Most of this tech was being developed and funded for the purpose of advancing military forces during World War II, but like most inventions, eventually trickled out for public use*. Uranus, along with Saturn, is linked to the sciences. Saturn for its rulership over the organization and structure of the natural world, and Uranus for its sudden onset of innovative and revolutionary ideas. Saturn and Uranus have been comingling in the sky at 60° (sextile) from one another throughout this year. In April, when Uranus and Saturn met in the first 3D map of a mammalian brain was created and three genetically engineered wolves were born, which exhibited characteristics of the extinct dire wolf.
The two ingenious planets will meet again mid-August and then at the end of January, guaranteed to propel advancements in the area of genetics, the unconscious and travel. While we wait for the announcement of these new discoveries, Uranus’ movement through Gemini can awaken the collective unconscious to explore various ways of connecting with the thinking mind in an objective way. Uranus helps to dislodge, detach and shock something out of a slumber and Gemini’s archetypal story is directly linked to the thinking mind, the part of our brains that directs conscious awareness. We may slowly become more aware of the never ending thoughts that run through our minds, viewing how we think from an observational perspective. This, unlike meditation, is a practice which solidifies the notion that we are not our thoughts, but that the brain is a system of automatic programs, firing one idea off after another that can be re-coded and re-routed once the observer becomes aware of itself observing.
This week the Full Moon in Capricorn lands on the 10th at 1:36pm PDT. The Sun in Cancer and Moon in Capricorn will culminate at 18°50’, the second decan of the Capricorn/Cancer axis. This Full Moon will highlight the third decan of Capricorn, which correlates to the 3 of Pentacles, showing three people working on a stone building, collaborating and organizing the project with each having their own role and job to play. The second decan of Cancer is connected to the 3 of Cups, which depicts three people dancing around in merriment and jovial fun, marking this full moon a time of building a collaborative dream or vision of the future with community. Take time to acknowledge the work that you have already done and release yourself from the responsibilities that bring unnecessary stress or anxiety. One theme of Capricorn that doesn’t get talked about often is the association that the sea goat has with well-deserved recognition for a job well done. Giving yourself and others validation for accomplishments doesn’t undermine any remaining tasks, but boosts confidence to keep going. This can also be a great time to release projects that you’ve been working on, seek guidance or advice from peers and network with others who share the same goals as you.
Saturn stations retrograde on the 12th/13th initiating that yearly phase where we are being asked to restructure boundaries, business plans and reprioritize tasks in work. This can be a time to go through the websites, rewrite your offerings, renegotiate a contract or re-establish your role in the work that you do. Saturn remains retrograde until November 28th, all progress requires a time of rest and germination. See this as an opportunity to shift gears, thinking outside of the box to generate solutions to old problems. On the personal front we may also try to break down some walls or barriers with work/life balance, romantic relationships or friendships, seeing where we may no longer need previously held hard lines.
Monday 7th
Uranus enters Gemini! Subtle signs of this could be noticing various topics of interest that pique your curiosity, topics that you may never have given a thought to beforehand or noticing the way that you talk/speak and just in general becoming more aware of your style of communication. Moon trine Mercury and square Mars has us wanting to explore new terrain, entertainment and adventures but realizing that it requires some slight adjustments to do so. The Moon will be void of course for 35 hours which is the first of many long void moons this week. The energy may be one of resting in a state of limbo without much directive.
Moon trine Mercury, square Mars, voc for 35H25M from 2:30 pm – 1:53 am 9th PDT, Uranus > Gemini.
Tuesday 8th
Moon square North Node creates tension around what to do and where to go, with the Moon in Sagittarius a sense of adventure is calling but it’s not completely clear how that journey will look. A healing moment arises through the Moon’s contact with the wounded healer, bringing to the fore a realignment with our need for independence and freedom. The Moon is void of course all day long before it enters Capricorn, if today feels like a wash, rest easy knowing it’s not just you.
Moon square NN, trine Chiron.
Wednesday 9th
If we work from the square and oppositions that the Moon makes to Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter today we can see ourselves accomplishing quite a bit. The drive for a well thought out plan and organized thinking undermines any lazy tendencies today. The Moon in Capricorn is steering the ship, cutting through fog and miscommunication. Home projects and renovation are on the brain, setting up important calls, sending out emails — it’s the energy that is needed from the last couple of days of the void moon carrying us through a daze.
Moon > Capricorn at 1:54 am PDT, square Saturn, square Neptune rx, opposite Jupiter.
Thursday 10th
The Full Moon in Capricorn culminates and then, immediately after, moves into another long void period wherein the long term future visions gain more clarity and strength when shared with others in collaboration. Community care and connection play a strong role in this Full Moon’s expression, inspiring us to reach out to people who share similar working styles and goals. Assess how far you’ve come, give appreciation for those who have laid the groundwork for you to continue in your work and be unafraid to share with your community where you are at in your progress.
Moon trine Mars, Full Moon in Capricorn at 1:36pm, voc for 20H44m from 1:37pm – 10:20 am 11th PDT.
Friday 11th
A light is shining on the path forward today, it can feel like doors are opening while others are gently closing and past situations are gaining insight and closure. There’s a moment where the way that we used to feel about a certain topic radically changes, is altered in some way or evolves in order to move forward. New beliefs and spiritual inklings could shed some light on existential topics that help us come to terms with ourselves and our place in the world. Moon moves into Aquarius adjusting the emotional pattern to consider our friendships and platonic relationships in a new light.
Moon square Chiron, Moon > Aquarius at 10:21 am PDT, trine Uranus, sextile Saturn, sextile Neptune rx, conjunct Pluto rx, Sun trine NN.
Saturday 12th
Our third extended void moon of the week comes along just after the Moon makes an opposition to Mercury. We could have a conversation or receive information that is not completely settled or has an end cap on it quite yet. With Saturn stationing retrograde, the process for re-structuring boundaries comes up. If left in a state of limbo, don’t fret as the answers come soon enough. The way in which we speak and project our voice at times can be shadowed by our own blinders, we’re not always aware of the way we come off or how we sound to others but the projection of that surfaces today.
Moon trine Venus, opposite Mercury, voc for 27H59M from 12:46pm – 4:45 pm 13th PDT,
Saturn stations retrograde.
Sunday 13th
The week ends with the Moon in Pisces switching gears from the electric and social Aquarius Moon to the fluid and gentle fish. Seeking peace, quiet and solitude from the noise and chaos of the crowd in order to hear one’s own thoughts is reflective of the Moon square Uranus aspect later in the day. We’re tuning in more to what the subconscious is trying to tell us through music, art, dreams and movement. This can be a good day to take time away from the collective noise, to recenter with the self and quiet the mind.
Moon sextile Chiron, Moon > Pisces at 4:44pm, square Uranus.
