Uranus Enters Gemini

Uranus Enters Gemini
7th PDT 12:46 AM / 7th AEST 5:46 PM
Uranus enters Gemini for the next five months, providing a sneak peek of themes that will become progressively apparent in 2026. Uranus has been cycling through Taurus for the last seven years, disrupting earthbound affairs — the environment, the economy, energy infrastructure.
As supply chains destabilized and money adopted ever more eccentric forms (see the rise of bitcoin, GameStop-gate or NFTs), there has been a growing question mark around what currency is, what constitutes art and what truly holds value in a culture addicted to novelty.
Taking a peek back at the last transit of Uranus in Taurus, between 1934 and 1942, we can see parallels in economic fluctuations and technological breakthroughs precipitated by the industrial boom of WWII. Uranus in Gemini, which followed from 1942 to 1949, saw the birth of the first computer (it should be mentioned, for the use of the U.S. Army). Historically, Uranus was also in Gemini during the invention of the printing press. 2026 to 2033 is looking to follow the pattern where technology and its impact on communication and education is concerned. Artificial intelligence has only shown us a fraction of what it can do. The ethics of A.I. in advertising, social media, and global correspondence is poised to be a major topic of discussion in the coming years.
On a personal level, we might begin to reflect on the substance of our media output and the merits of our media consumption. Are our ideas breaking new ground or adding to the noise? Is technology numbing us to reality or keeping us informed? Will we merge with the meta-verse or will we eschew the net (pun intended) for the increasingly psychedelic experience of touching grass and connecting IRL? Only time, and Uranus, will tell.
