The Moon and the Sun find themselves in the waxing quarter phase on Monday in Virgo at 12°50’. This is the phase when the apprentice hones in on their skills while taking on more responsibility in their work. Whatever craft that we have been perfecting is taken to the next level, we may test out the competence in order to place how much more practice we need to take on. Organizing every grain of sand is a mountain of a task but once ascended upon with one tiny step at a time, becomes a learned skillset that can be called upon at will throughout life. The Virgo quarter Moon is a time when we don’t shrink away from seemingly unsurmountable responsibilities and chores and dive head first, proving to the nervous system that order can prevail out of chaos.
Whichever polarity descriptor you decide to use, it equates to two signs that have an agreeable inward or outward expression. For example the fire and air signs (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius) are masculine while the water and earth signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces) are feminine, meaning that generally the masculine signs, much like their element are active and outward-oriented while feminine refers to signs which are receptive, and inward-focused. Mercury in active air linking with Mars in creative fire generates an abundance of inspiration and motivation and most importantly, FUN! Mercury then moves into a square with the nodes, forcing a decision mid-week then a conjunction with Jupiter, planting the seeds for a new philosophical and spiritual foundation.
Mercury > Cancer at 3:58 pm PST on the 8th (9th in far eastern time zones), shifts the mental capacity to one that requires tenderness and care for the mind to unfurl. Holding wisdom and words tight to the chest, while intricately weaving the perfect turn of phrase, leads to a refined form of creative expression. Music and poetry become the natural tone with which to communicate through. Mercury will remain in Cancer until June 27th, which gives ample time to write those love songs. Venus ingresses into her domicile Taurus on the 5th/6th and is a time when aesthetics, beauty, acquisition of resources and money management becomes us. From now until July 4th the Venusian layers of sweetness that pour out of Taurus will bathe us in her cylindrical depths, catering to the romantic within.
Monday 2nd
The first quarter Moon kicks in today, challenging the accuracy and truthfulness of our words. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen and if you can’t back up what you say with data and facts, then you should probably sit this one out. The quarter Moon triggers internal and external conflicts that test mental and emotional resilience. As the Moon travels through Virgo, the static energy slowly rises and can build up in the nervous system — best to move the excess mental payload through movement, journaling, writing, getting the details out of the head and body and out on paper or through physical excursion.

Tuesday 3rd
Today the Moon hits a square to Mercury, this is a continuation of the static energy build up from yesterday but now the message surrounding its meaning becomes quite clear. Old conversations and discourse comes back into the fore while the Moon integrates South Node lessons with practicality. Setting a plan in motion takes time and sometimes we have to go back to the drawing board or re-sketch out the plan based off of newfound information from experimentation. Try to remain flexible to any adjustments that pop up.

Wednesday 4th
The phone is blowing up with the Moon entering Libra just after a square to the planet of expansion, Jupiter. The need to connect and commune with people who get you and accept all parts of you is felt deeply throughout the day. Moon in Libra also opens us up to being more curious about the emotional world of others, seeking conversations that feel open, fluid and non-judgmental. There can be pressures coming from outside the house, threatening to restrict social connections as the Moon meets an opposition with Saturn in Aries. But with Venus sextile Jupiter, the buoyant mood of the day can hardly be stopped no matter how many curmudgeons you run into.

Thursday 5th
Understanding and awareness are the themes for the day with the Moon trine Sun and Mercury moving into a sextile with Mars and square the nodes. Venus enters Taurus today as well which puts a sleepy haze over ambitions in relationships and acquisitions. Why can’t it just be easy? Well it can and with Venus in Taurus, the way in which we acquire resources becomes more strategic rather than reactive through the gentle nature of the bull. Finding little treasures throughout the day brings a sense of luck and wonderment.

Friday 6th
Loads of activity throughout the day ignites inspired action. Conversations that we engage in can light up the mind, helping to make headway on social matters. Navigating bureaucracy is easy when the Moon in Libra is lighting the way forward with refined etiquette. The balancing act ends later in the day, however, when the Moon shifts into piercing Scorpio, digging deeper into the nuance and not letting anything go unnoticed. Mercury meets in a minor harmonious aspect with Chiron helping to soothe conversations and balance the tone with informative, educational perspectives.

Saturday 7th
Moon meets with a square to Pluto while in the early degrees of Scorpio bringing up past conflicts to be purged from the psyche. This is also a good day to address any lingering, unfinished business that has grabbed hold of one’s emotional peace. Making adjustments to diet, wellness plans and the way we relate to the body might mean letting go of any rigidity around black and white thinking within these themes. Confronting our own personal biases today may result in more acceptance which can lead to productive viewpoints around change, seeing change as a form of evolution rather than an all or nothing scenario.

Sunday 8th
Mercury enters Cancer today just after leaving a conjunction with Jupiter. The planet of the mind shifts focus towards beliefs which stem from historical personal experiences. Subjectivity is the name of the game when Mercury is in any of the water signs but mostly when in Cancer. A new form of sensitivity is being discovered in how think and what to say. While we adjust to the new frame of reference of the watery realms of the mind and learn how to swim in the void, there can be small flareups which require a gentle soothing from trusted companions.
