Delicate on the inside, hard as a rock on the outside, the crab wobbles back and forth delicately, quickly and cautiously. The crab has much to protect which translates through the Cancerian archetype’s inclination to defend itself against threats with its big pinchers, able to hold on with a firm grasp. Through the second decan of Cancer, we learn just how special and delicate the most tender relationships to our hearts are and we cradle them, while simultaneously protecting them with big crab claws. The second decan depicts an image with three people dancing around holding their cups into the sky, it is a clear symbol of congenial and platonic fun. The 3 of Cups in the tarot reflects moments when we are filled to the brim with support and resources that is reflected within the community we are a part of. Cancer as the nurturer understands most how important community care is and that to take care of one anyone as your own, is a sign of true human decency.
The New Moon is in Cancer 14° 23’ on the 5th at 3:57 pm Pacific Time and is influenced by the north and south nodes. The Sun and Moon square the nodes cuts through the illusion of time, opening a portal which blends past, present and future. Eras of the past become deeply relevant to our own personal stories and the familial connections which we stray from time to time make their way back into our consciousness.
Neptune stations retrograde on the 2nd/3rd right at the last degree of Pisces the fish, which it co-rules. Neptune and Saturn both traversing backwards through the two fishes will certainly confuse our sense of direction and disorient our awareness of time even more for the duration of their retrograde cycle and the New Moon in Cancer offers to usher into the collective a way in which we are to creatively collaborate with a new ‘time frame’. Mercury enters Leo this week on the same day that Neptune stations retrograde. Mercury is checked by Pluto and forced to divulge all of itself first before moving through the constellation of the lion, it is like a test that Pluto is placing on royalty, authority and celebrity. The Court of Public Opinion aka Pluto in Aquarius scorns all planets that pass through Leo’s first degrees; Mercury and the Moon have some explaining to do. Jupiter in Gemini’s ability to make light of any situation is bringing comedy back from the dead and Mercury in Leo is certainly living for it.
Monday 1st
The Moon, lavishing in Taurus meets with Mars for a slow, sizzling tango. Caught between love and responsibilities, there is a dynamic way to integrate both but that is for you to figure out on your own. The steam slowly vents and the pressure is released through the grounding effects of nature, art and perfect craftsmanship.
Moon conjunct Mars, sextile Venus, sextile Saturn rx.
Tuesday 2nd
When the cosmic sands get sifted there is a natural moment of confusion but after the dust has settled, clarity sets in and what was once a chaotic blur slowly reveals itself as art/a memory or just a weird blip in the matrix. The Sun squares the nodes forcing us to question if the direction that we are going is in fact the one we intend to go in, this happens twice a year, so this is merely a gentle check in from the Universe as there is support right now to make any adjustments or shifts needed in your attitude or personal approach to the future and the past.
Moon conjunct Uranus, sextile Neptune rx, Moon > Gemini at 8:50 am, sextile Mercury, trine Pluto rx, Sun square NN, Mercury trine Neptune rx, Mercury > Leo, Venus trine Saturn rx, Neptune stations retrograde.
Wednesday 3rd
On Mercury’s day, we problem solve. Mercury opposes Pluto rx after just having entered Leo, it is like a humbleness check right out the gate for each planet that enters the sign of royalty. This can put us in a tail spin, critiquing and analyzing every detail of some story or plot line finding where all of the details do not add up. We’ve all become expert sleuths overnight. Going deep into the mind to uncover mental blocks and shadow parts through comedy and laughter is a healing practice.
Moon conjunct Jupiter, sextile NN, square Saturn rx, Mercury opposite Pluto rx.
Thursday 4th
The Moon enters Cancer, it’s time to get serious and solemn. The fun is over and the reality sets in with the Moon making a square to Neptune, forcing a shift in the mood. The desire to disconnect/dissociate/avoid may be high for those who lean towards those tendencies but also may be a welcomed one since we are preparing for the New Moon in Cancer tomorrow. A natural shut down period of introspection often occurs on a New Moon so today we may be emotionally preparing.
Moon sextile Chiron, square Neptune, Moon > Cancer at 1:51 pm.
Friday 5th
This New Moon opens a portal to the past and other realms where parts of us still roam. It is very possible to use this time of regeneration to restore balance and harmony in a relationship which is in need of some repair, love, and care. The energy of the Moon opens up new doorways to connecting with and understanding our deepest and most important relationships. The timeline shift is beneficial to compare and contract how far you have come on your journey.
Moon square NN, New Moon in Cancer 14°23’ at 3:57 pm, Mars sextile Saturn rx, Venus square Chiron.
Saturday 6th
The Pluto opposition initiation has commenced with the Moon’s grand entrance into Leo muffled by the cold an silent critique of the court of public opinion. If there is one thing that Cancer season teaches us, it is how to make a bad situation an opportunity for a joke. Dark humor is better than no humor and the Moon/Pluto polarity will guarantee a peek behind the glamour and mystique.
Moon trine Saturn rx, sextile Mars, square Chiron, conjunct Venus, sextile Uranus, trine Neptune rx, Moon > Leo at 8:55pm, opposite Pluto rx.
Sunday 7th
Celebrating friendship is where it’s at today, the Moon in Leo conjoins Mercury, the planetary little sibling along with Jupiter, the planetary teacher in fire and air. When fire and air come together the energy is combustible setting off flames and causing a scene. A dynamic team is born out of a playful spontaneous moment.
Moon conjunct Mercury, sextile Jupiter, trine NN.
