It is a pretty active week in the sky, get ready to move and shake your way through the second decan of Gemini. There is a New Moon in Gemini at 16°18’, just try and not participate in the gossip and sharing of information that goes off this week. Our heads will be spinning with all of the shifts and changes in direction that we end up going in. The New Moon is in the second decan of Gemini which is associated with the 9 of Swords, and if you know the tarot, you know that the last 3 swords cards do not depict light and fluffy themes. The 9 of Swords shows someone laying in bed with their head in their hands crying under a blanket with the zodiac printed on it. The 9 of swords is the classic worry card, mental energy is activated in a heightened state and this at the point where we need to begin seeking guidance, help and service from outside ourselves. The 9 and 10 of Swords shows us how our minds can create larger than life situations brought on by our own negative thinking. To move through the 9 of Swords we learn that reaching out and sharing your burdens with others who are able to receive it helps to alleviate the anxiety. Gaining a broader understanding or getting a third person perspective is a helpful way to gain clarity.
The tarot cards associated with Gemini are a bit dreary, they doesn’t necessarily reflect the Gemini archetype which is typically light hearted, mischievous and emotionally intelligent, but more so speak to the way the element of air functions within the human psyche. The New Moon in Gemini is generally a time when we are batting around multiple different thoughts and perspectives in order to experiment in the vast sea of potential.
Mercury ingresses into Gemini and Mars ingresses into Taurus this week. The active energy of Mars becomes more subdued in the fixed earth sign Taurus. The fires are dulled out and all of that excess, pent up motivation takes a left turn for the couch. Mercury brightens our minds and whispers constant distracting ideas and concepts to ponder. While Mercury is in Gemini take advantage of the heightened mental clarity that ensues.
Venus is cazimi on the same day Mercury conjuncts Jupiter! This is an impactful day and I can’t help but think about the babies that will be born with this astrological signature. The Venus cazimi (conjunct the Sun 0° exact) in Gemini plants a seed which helps to foster communication and lightness within our relationships. There is a playful air to Venus in Gemini and the Sun lights up the sweetness of Venus. When Venus’ light is eclipsed by the Sun she goes into hiding, integrating and basking her intelligence with the Sun’s light. In a sense, the planet that is eclipsed or cazimi is harder to access and we directed to focus on the role that love, relationships with others and the way we communicate affects our day to day life. Mercury and Jupiter conjunct bring in a load of mental downloads! Tuesday/Wednesday will be a day you won’t want to leave your notebook at home.
Monday 3rd
The truth always eventually comes out. We are peering below the surface of a situation to uncover the underlying emotion that is driving the ship. Whatever shifts or changes you make today will ultimately aid in the long run. Mercury enters Gemini activating the collective psyche and highlighting the drive for verbal connection. Practice words of affirmation, saying more and speaking up.

Tuesday 4th
Mercury and Jupiter join forces today while the Sun and Venus pair up next door. An abundance of information, light heartedness, laughter, teasing, spilling tea, sharing messages, chit chatting and flirting fills the air today. We may not really be feeling like ourselves, maybe a little disconnected from the earth plane a bit as the element of air takes precedence. Distractibility is at an all-time high, if work does end up getting done, pat yourself on the back.

Wednesday 5th
Loose lips sink ships and when the Moon enters Gemini, sometimes she just doesn’t know when to zip it. The Moon trines Pluto shortly after and then meets with Jupiter and Mercury forcing the impact from the day before to settle into the feeling body.

Thursday 6th
New Moon in Gemini at 16° 18’ encourages us to open up and openly share our thoughts and ideas freely. The brain is on fire and new words and syllables are coming out of our mouths left and right. The energy is hard to pin down but just let it flow, we can be feeling a bit mischievous with a mix of deep curiosity and analysis. This is a great time to reframe any negative thought cycles or patterns that trip up your confidence.

Friday 7th
The energy is beginning to slow down and envelope us in a dreamy fog. The Moon ingresses into Cancer today affording us the time to deeply integrate the New Moon themes into our emotional selves. Gemini is so in the mind that we sometimes forget that just because you can conceptualize something it doesn’t mean that it exists in the external reality outside of the mind. So today we can place within where we are feeling these new concepts take shape.

Saturday 8th
Reality bites when the Moon moves into a square with the NN and a trine with Saturn. We can get some constructive feedback on how we are moving forward which will help us to become more pointed in the efforts that we are making towards a project. Moon square Chiron may bring up some wounds around femininity, womanhood or other nurturing aspects of our being. Mars enters Taurus slowing us way down and helping to calm the pace that we are moving at. Motivation comes from finding peace and quiet.

Sunday 9th
The rebellious spirit is alive and there are less people who are willing to take orders or listen to someone else who is less qualified than them. Attitudes are out today, the Sun square Saturn makes for a rambunctious moment when the collective authority doesn’t sit well with the status quo. Everything is personal and when the Moon ingresses into Leo, we will surely let anyone within earshot know how we feel about mistreatment.
