Venus enters Sagittarius
Venus enters Sagittarius
29th PST 12:24 / 30th AEDT 7:24
Following a three-and-a-half-week stint in Scorpio, Venus gallops into Sagittarius today, where it will immediately enter into mutual reception with Jupiter. Mutual reception refers to two planets occupying the sign of their counterpart’s rulership. Jupiter, which classically rules Sagittarius, is currently transiting Taurus. And Venus, which rules Taurus, is now in the sign of the archer. Typically, planets in mutual reception enhance one another’s expression. This dance serves to bring out the best in planets that might otherwise feel a bit unmoored or out of their depth in unfamiliar territory. Venus has no essential dignity in Sagittarius, so an assist from jovial Jupiter is already cause for some celebration.
What makes this cosmic moment even *nicer* is that we’re dealing with the two benefics – planets that have a hand in auguring auspicious, happy occasions! Although a lack of shared aspect may make this energy less apparently pronounced, two benefics in cahoots are just about as Hallmark holiday movie as you can get.
The NEXT three-and-a-half weeks promise heightened idealism in matters of the heart. During this time, romance can really “take us places”, be that literally (say, on a vacation) or emotionally (through the transmission of new-and-improved philosophical perspectives). We’re hoping to learn, grow, and have meaningful experiences alongside similarly adventurous company. Overindulgence could be something to watch out for, even though “'tis the season” and we’ll probably walk away from playfully debaucherous situations no worse for the wear. And expect a few wacky twists of fate to be thrown in for good measure. Nothing too outrageous. Venus in Sagittarius teases just enough hijinks to affirm that love often has a way of working out, even if it's precluded by miscalculations, oversights, or initial expectations gone awry.
