Venus Enters Libra

Venus moves from its fall to its domicile as it enters Libra, where it teams up with Uranus, Pluto and Neptune in a kite formation. Romantic harmony may be what we *say* we want now, but it will probably not be what we get, and we're likely more okay with the spice and chaos than we're letting on. Romantic entanglements promise to be more dramatic than your average Venus in Libra, where decision-making often ends in a stalemate. 

However, what the kite dynamic will activate is our tendency to entertain and excuse romantic delusions. If excitement and interest is there, surely there must be compatibility on some level – or so we tell ourselves. If longing and liberation are there, then maybe, despite all evidence to the contrary, we can spin an ephemeral love story into an enduring one. This impulse, to see the *potential* rather than the *reality*, will only become painful if we pursue it, as caging a passionate relationship dynamic into a respectable one, restricting it to its most limiting form, will only neuter it. We love the freedom we're experiencing within our relationships now, yet we’re tempted to think they would be PERFECT if only we could control their trajectory. Meanwhile, their lack of predictability is the very thing that makes them transformative.

Venus is already beginning to slow down in preparation for its early October Scorpio retrograde. It will backtrack into Libra before Halloween, so now is a good time to start thinking about where your desire for stability and order might contradict your desire for a love that moves you?
