Venus enters Libra
Venus enters Libra
8th PST 1:31 / 8th AEDT 20:31
Having spent four weeks in the fall, Venus enters harmonious Libra today. While Venus was in Virgo, our exacting standards slimmed down our pool of romantic prospects considerably. So much so that we are now wondering if we’ve been too harsh. Did we judge someone without giving them a fair chance? Did we write them off for a trivial shortcoming?
Excepting a few short stints from the fast-moving moon, Venus will be the only planet occupying an air sign for the duration of this transit. In fact, once Venus exits Libra on December 4/5 there will be NO planets in air until January 20/21, when the sun and Pluto enter Aquarius just hours apart! All this is to say that Venus is doing some heavy lifting in its role as an ambassador in the coming days. And so, with our desire planet in domicile, we’re tempted to circle back on those whom we’ve written off.
Now we are inclined to weigh our options, even as we skirt outright commitments. Yet it is this hesitancy to commit that can also cause us to appear superficial. On the one hand, surface-level relationships are easier to manage. There is no real risk involved. On the other hand, tenuous love easily loses its luster. Too much timidity in matters of the heart robs life of its passion. With Venus in Libra, there is a fine line between assent and acquiescence. The former requires our active participation, and the latter requires us only to show up and go through the motions.
Luckily, Venus’ interaction with the lunar south node at month’s end foreshadows a necessary reimagining of what we assume love “should” look and feel like. This occasion may see old flames reappearing on the scene, karmic encounters testing our mettle, or sudden romantic role reversals. Temptation is the name of the game, and temptation can inspire us to make irrational decisions. It may not *seem* ideal in the moment. But counterintuitively, conflict is critical to achieving an honest rebalancing of the scales.
