Venus enters Leo on July 11/12, granting us extra courage in matters of the heart. While the love planet graces the sign of the lion, our tastes are extravagant and our attitudes are flirtatious. The extroverts among us will be the most energized by this transit, but even the wallflowers might make an uncharacteristically bold move and confess to harboring hidden feelings.
Now, we want to be adored. We want to be wooed. We want tangible gestures of affection – tokens and tributes. However, we should be mindful not to let the spirit of the season, and all its theatrics, trump our true sentiments. Someone might be giving us the special treatment, but if our attention is drifting, it’s best not to string them along.
Venus in Leo is about having fun, chasing our passions and moving with confidence. This is an excellent time for dating, rekindling a lost spark, and generally speaking, for falling in love! But even the strongest relationships have hiccups. One thing that Venus tends to do in Leo is set the bar too high. The honeymoon phase of any relationship is just that – a phase. Honest connection hinges upon what happens behind the scenes, not on the stage and this is a month where we’re bound to forget that at least once or twice. When things aren’t working, amplifying the drama is not always the answer.
This will be especially evident this week, as immediately upon entering Leo, Venus opposes Pluto, stirring up jealousies and possessiveness. If someone isn’t providing us the attention we think we deserve, we can resort to major vindictive behavior. This aspect also suggests the risk of falling for someone who’s just plain bad news. If you don’t want power plays to set the tone for what may otherwise be a pleasant Venus in Leo voyage, exercise discernment.
