Venus Enters Capricorn
Venus Enters Capricorn
11th PST 10:26 / 12th AEDT 5:26
Venus enters Capricorn, where it will transit until December 6. Over the next three and a half weeks, we adopt a sober, sometimes-calculating view of romance. What we’re seeking now is longevity in matters of the heart. We want commitments that will last the test of time. We want that in-sickness-and-in-health kind of love. However, we’d also be wise to question our priorities now, as a *lengthy* relationship is not necessarily the mark of a *successful* one.
This truth could be especially glaring when Venus squares off with the lunar nodes on November 16. Venus in Capricorn encourages us to double-down on the real thing, but it also might inspire us to cut our losses if a situationship does not appear to be going somewhere. "Is it authentic love?” we’ll ask of our companions. “Then prove it”.
The proof we seek won’t lie in an ostentatious display. All the right words can be spoken, but if promises are rarely backed up by action, that’s something to think about. If you get the sense that your partner is only with you because you look good on paper or tick their boxes, that’s something to think about. Or, if you think about THEM in that light, that’s something to think about. Ticking boxes on its own isn’t a dealbreaker. In fact, acknowledging your partner’s desirable qualities might strengthen your connection and inspire you both to set new shared goals. However, in quantifying the merits of our unions with some distance from the visionary (and occasionally blindspot-riddled) landscape of Venus in the previous sign of Sagittarius, we must think twice about what ties *actually* bind us together. While it may not mark the most amorous time of the year, Venus in Capricorn does prompt us to affirm the value of our most precious investments – our loved ones.
