Venus Conjunct North Node

Venus aligns with the lunar North Node today and by extension, opposes the lunar South Node. The North Node is often touted as an indicator of fate or destiny, contrasted with the South Node, which symbolizes our past. But the nuance is greater than this. Accessing the magic of the North Node requires active participation and conscious choice. It bears no guarantees. Guarantees are the territory of the South Node, where comfort keeps us on autopilot. 

So as Venus links up with the North Node, there is an *opportunity* for new love. But acquiring it requires us to think in a completely counterintuitive way about what we desire, who we are attracted to, who we *attract* and why. After all, repeating the same patterns in love (as in life) and expecting different results is tantamount to madness. So, if you expect romance to fall in your lap now, it probably won’t, because you have a built-in assumption of what love is supposed to look like. And if you’re looking in familiar places and gravitating towards familiar traits and characteristics, you may just miss it. 

Aries has much to do with individuality and originality, and a transit in such trailblazing territory lays the theme of novelty on pretty thick. A willingness to risk the unknown in matters of the heart will accelerate your personal evolution. But the Venus-NN conjunction also demands that we center our Selves, which seems at odds with Venus’ inclination towards relationship, and therefore, compromise. We all make sacrifices in relationships, but with any hope, these sacrifices are not self-negating. So, this transit is our clue to seek out the company of those who WANT us, not NEED us. Passion, excitement, and inspiration should be our draws, not reluctant conciliation.
