Neptune stations retrograde on Aries' second degree. It’s been just over four months since Neptune left its domicile of Pisces, but its yearly retrogrades, which span about five months, predictably destine the planet of illusion for a slow swim through the zodiac.
Preoccupied with mystery and heedless of its effect on mere mortals, Neptune turns around. And, back on earth, something you’ve been ignoring since the end of 2024 gradually becomes more difficult to overlook. A 'lucky' break discloses its flaws. A 'perfect' relationship faces mundane trials. You realize that 'irrefutable' creative or spiritual wisdom you’ve lionized has come out of the mind of a human being who is capable of errors in judgment. Perhaps these reality checks won’t entirely disenchant you. However, as red flags retrospectively reveal themselves like easter eggs, cracks in the ideal inspire suspicion of beliefs or circumstances you’ve accepted as canon.
This is our first taste of Neptune Rx in Aries, where things feel personal, and no one likes wondering if they’ve potentially been duped — or conned. Should we have seen this coming? Should we have been more alert to the ruse? How else could we have held the vision while avoiding the snare of blind optimism?
We may spend the next three months or so puzzling over this, while trying to extricate ourselves from a sticky situation. But then Neptune re-enters Pisces. Tone change. And the matter seems less urgent. Reverently, we 'see the lesson' in the disappointment. But bear in mind that this story of transcending ego needs, reframing reasonable frustration as a sacred teacher, is a story we’ve been cycling through for the last FOURTEEN YEARS. Neptune’s final stint in Pisces will reveal that it’s time for a new story, where desire gets its due.
