Ruled by Venus, it is charming, patient, and abundant. The Bull reminds us to take things slow, to enjoy what sits here in this present moment. We learn that what is natural is valuable. We understand that our worth is not in being caught in the rat race. We prioritize ease. We succumb to our softness. We realize our power is inherent, not earned but a given right.
 


TAURUS MYTHOLOGY

SNIPPETS FROM ORIGINS OF THE ZODIAC

The Greek mythology surrounding the constellation Taurus, the Bull, has its origins in the story of the abduction of Europa. Europa was a Phoenician princess whose beauty caught the eye of Zeus, the head of the Greek pantheon. When Europa was out gathering flowers with her handmaidens, Zeus transformed himself into a white bull and mixed in with her father’s herd of cattle. Europa, enamored by the bull’s tame nature, climbed on top of the god in disguise, who immediately carried her across the sea to Crete. Europa bore Zeus several children, including King Minos, whose famous labyrinth housed the Minotaur.

THIS TAURUS SEASON

While the Sun travels through sensual and determined Taurus, we turn our attention to the themes of Stability and Self-Worth. The earth beneath our feet is rooted, creating a pathway for us forward. With Venus, the ruler of Taurus, now direct, we can experience more profound growth and pleasure. We can embody the Empress archetype and learn to find creativity in the simplest of moments.


Below are ways to work with Taurus Season:


1. GARDEN GRATITUDE
Take time to put your hands or feet in the dirt. Whether you are harvesting or planting, Taurus Season will always yield abundance. Show gratitude to the land, what you plant/harvest, and feel yourself ground into the earth.


2. SENSUAL INTENTIONS
Before you set intentions for the week, focus on the way you feel. Turn on your favourite music and light a candle. Open your journal/planner and feel the pages between your fingers. Take three deep breaths, and listen to how your body responds. Then, write your intentions.


3. COOK ON FRIDAYS
Fridays are the day of Venus, which rules Taurus. Every Friday during Taurus Season, create a meal that leaves you feeling grounded and grateful. Thank the food you work with and stir intention into the meal. Share this with food with others to pass the magic on.


4. LEAN INTO EASE
Find ways to allow yourself to rest and lean into the ease of the season. Listen to your body and understand that you are inherently worthy of rest. Slow down and find space in your day to do less. Prioritize your softness.


Grounded in the earth, I find my place — unwavering and immovable. I am home among the flora, an extension of the world, and a force of nature. I not only live in alignment with the cosmos, but I am the cosmos — alive and full of abundance.
