Pluto Enters Aquarius
Pluto enters Aquarius
19th PST 12:30 / 20th AEDT 7:30
This is it. Pluto enters Aquarius, crossing over the threshold it last traversed on September 1. Look back to this date to see what thematic ripples the planet of evolution has left in its wake. Now Pluto will remain in the sign of the water-bearer until 2044, ushering in new opportunities for transformation. Its ingress acts as a catalyst for ecological, psychological and societal rebirth, encouraging us to think about power in a different light, perhaps a light that is more communally than hierarchically oriented.
Interestingly, both Capricorn (which Pluto transited since 2008) and Aquarius are Saturn-ruled signs. This means that by the time Pluto enters Pisces, it will have spent nearly 40 years deferring to Saturn’s disciplinary influence. The Pluto in Capricorn years were marked by the energetics of Saturn-as-legacy-builder, highlighting the corruption of institutional power dynamics. During these years, Saturn itself journeyed from Virgo to Pisces – signs that seasonally correspond to fall and winter in the Northern Hemisphere. However, the Aquarian Saturn is a Saturn that *innovates* upon an established legacy. We are primed for a paradigm shift and Pluto (if it answers to anyone) is now answering to a planet with its finger on the pulse of progress. From now until 2044, Saturn will move from Pisces to Scorpio, corresponding largely to the Northern Hemisphere’s spring and summer months. Hemispheres aside, there is a sense of coming out of the cold now, despite the uncertainty of living in transitional times.
Speaking of transition, Pluto is just the first of the outer planets to make a pivotal ingress in the coming months. Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are all gearing up to enter new signs in 2025. Change is unquestionably afoot.
