Mercury Enters Pisces

Cerebral, social Mercury ingresses into intuitive, idealistic Pisces today, fostering dreamy discourse as well as crossed wires. Here, we forget that some ideas are better in theory than in practice. Some half-baked ideas will never fully rise. Some 'psychic' communication is actually assumption and projection masquerading as understanding.

However, the world may also be a better, brighter, more ensouled place for those who are inspired to voice a dream or give shape to a vision, regardless of its practicality or feasibility. With Mercury being the first of a parade of planets to enter the sign of the Fishes (and also the one with the longest tenure due to its upcoming retrograde), we’d do ourselves a disservice by discounting what we can learn from whimsy this month. Combustible air and fire signatures are February’s headline news, but Mercury in Pisces reminds us of the NECCESITY of imagination. For all the ways in which humanity seems to be tilting out of alignment, there are also unanticipated avenues available to us, opportunities that must be summoned into existence. Discovering them requires a relaxing or shifting of focus, like the ocular trickery required to see the image hidden in a Magic Eye puzzle. In turbulent times, in spaces where satisfaction, respite, or closure is denied, possibilities manifest. The concealed picture is THERE, but if it requires manipulating our perspective to discern, we might still call it an illusion.

This is not a moment where everything is going to make sense, where 'rules are rules' and rational thinking evens the playing field. This is a moment to reflect, to connect with others in conversations that invoke 'what ifs?', and commit to noticing, simply *noticing*, the ebb and flow of attention, emotion, and awareness.
