Mercury Enters Gemini

Mercury enters Gemini
25th PDT 6:00 PM / 26th AEST 11:00 AM
Mercury enters Gemini, where, after playing a prominent role in tomorrow’s new moon, it will make its superior conjunction to the sun, sparking inspiring conversations. Sociable, intellectually dexterous, a touch over-zealous — the expression of these qualities characterizes Mercury’s stay in its first of its two domiciles. During this transit, we have a comeback for everything, and (helpfully, usually), the capricious delivery necessary to sidestep offending those we’re chatting with. Mercury in Gemini bears the energy of the Fool, or his less whimsical younger brother, the Jester. The next two weeks ask us to play devil’s advocate, turn the trivial into trivia, and adjust the cooking time on our half-baked ideas.
Take note of the company that you keep, or, especially, the company that you’re trying to avoid. Who irks you in the office? Who would you rather not cross paths with during your daily errands? The personality quirks that you find annoying in others likely reflect similarities that you would rather not admit to. Fortunately, Mercury in Gemini is the ideal occasion to do some casual, quixotic reflecting on this matter. Even if you can’t quite accept that you share the same idiosyncrasies, your best recourse may still be to befriend a nemesis — in the name of advancing an interesting story, if for nothing else.
Because this is a window where we are less attached to our opinions (and even our morals to some extent), allowing our minds to be changed doesn’t pose the kind of existential threat to identity that it might during other Mercury transits. If you are open to being surprised, someone can very pleasantly surprise you now. If you are not open to being surprised, the universe will surprise you anyway, and you’ll get a good laugh out of it.
