Mercury Enters Cancer

Mercury Enters Cancer
8th PDT 3:58 PM / 9th AEST 8:58 AM
The messenger planet enters Cancer, where it will be the only planet in a water sign for just shy of 24 hours before Jupiter follows suit and tides begin to turn.
Mercury spends 18 days here, kicking up nostalgia. The big thought in the collective right now is, 'Who am I?' and Cancer Mercury suggests we approach this question by digging into the core architecture of who we used to be and moving from there. The future is one big unknown, but the past provides guardrails, and meaning can be sourced from memory.
Logic isn’t Mercury in Cancer’s strong suit, but emotional intelligence is. If you are uncertain about your path, stuck in a rut or the options are overwhelming, opt to lean into what FEELS instinctively correct, even if it defies practicality. We’re less touchy about sharing our anxieties with friends now and they’ll give good feedback because they’re ALSO in a more empathic headspace. Conversations will be more intense, though, due to being charged with the emotion of the spoken and unspoken.
Because this Mercury is moon-ruled, you can expect to waver a good deal now, and that’s okay. The next two and a half weeks aren’t designed for bold decisions or figuring out your life’s direction. They’re for building emotional capacity and identifying the cyclical nature of your ups and downs. When you figure out what’s actually upsetting you, you have more bandwidth to handle it. It may not be the whole 'Who am I?' bit that’s bothering you after all, it’s 'How can I calm my nervous system amidst uncertainty?' And since self-regulation may simply be a matter of chatting with a loved one or consuming media you watched/read/listened to in your childhood, there’s typically at least one strategy available at any given time to mitigate the tension.
