Mercury Enters Aquarius
Mercury Enters Aquarius
27th PST 6:53 PM / 28th AEDT 1:53 PM
Mercury enters Aquarius, joining power-players Pluto and the Sun. Here, we leave behind the rigidity and pessimism of Capricorn. Got an original idea? Interested in pushing the envelope? Consider this your chance to rethink what is possible without sacrificing objectivity in the process.
Mars’ retrograde is still making success slow to materialize – only now we’re really getting in our feelings about it. Progress seems miles away, and as Mars approaches a square to Chiron, day-to-day trials are beginning to register less like a series of unfortunate events, and more like the universe has it out for us in a deliberately mean-spirited way. Yet Mercury in Aquarius *promises* progress – within the intellect if nowhere else. Amidst setbacks, Aquarian Mercury presents itself and says, “capitalize on me!” The messenger planet zips through the sign of the water bearer in just two and a half weeks, so our task is to make the most of its influence.
Following Mercury’s alignment with Pluto, which uncovers secrets and makes us excellent detectives (but also inclines us to paranoid thinking) Mercury will enter into lockstep with the sun for the duration of its Aquarian passage. Personified, this is somewhat like the scientist and their assistant moving around the lab, conducting tests, experimenting, making mistakes and most importantly MOVING ON. This is no time to focus on our failures, but to seize opportunities to innovate and collaborate, and to keep a cool head under pressure without losing our sense of humor. Mercury in Aquarius reminds us that there is no constant but change, and that when the chips are down, zigging when others expect a zag will provoke the most excellent breakthroughs.
