Mars Stations Retrograde
Mars Stations Retrograde
6th PST 15:33 / 7th AEDT 10:33
Mars begins its backslide in Leo, which will take us through the end of the year. This period of stalled momentum could be coming at a convenient time, considering the school and office closures that typically fall close to the holiday season. Ordinarily, we’d celebrate an excuse for a sudden lapse in motivation. Or we would if Mars wasn’t turning around in a sign consumed with propping up the ego. We’re inclined to read frustrating roadblocks or an absence of creative inspiration as personal failings now. Adding insult to injury, Mars retrograde tends to tank sex drives, too.
As always, Mars retrograde doesn’t have to be a thorn in our side if we take its cues without taking its effects personally. What is the real harm in slowing down now? There might not be any. Additionally, Mars is still doing its dance with Pluto, set to make its second of three exact oppositions on January 2/3 2025. A little bit of give can be a net gain at this time, especially when facing off against those with more power than you. Practicing patience as you suss out your opponent’s true agenda will enable you to plan a more effective strategy.
The mental gymnastics of this transit involves convincing ourselves that rest isn’t as risky as we assume. We currently don’t have a lot of energy to spare, so pushing ourselves to perform won’t do us or anyone else any favors. But if we permit ourselves a breather, we will be better able to identify the issues that ARE urgent and those that warrant immediate action can be tackled accordingly.
Mars will be retrograde until February 23/24, moving back into Cancer in its travels. Pick your battles and remember that this transit is affecting *everyone*. This should discourage you from meeting another’s lack of passion with passive-aggressiveness.
