Today’s Jupiter-Pluto square is one of the year’s most anticipated transits. Perfecting just 32 hours after Jupiter enters Taurus, this clash between two planets with distinct egoic, materialist, and spiritual desires, emphasizes picking our battles wisely.
Many religious traditions and spiritual frameworks contain teachings to this effect: when you finally commit to levelling up, challenges will appear to test your resolve. The greater your potential for advancement, the more the universe will place obstacles in your path. This is not a cosmic punishment, but a reminder to keep your convictions even when faced with insurmountable odds.

And there are other ways for us to "cheat" ourselves: giving into an addictive pattern may feel rewarding in the immediate, but the long-term damage far outweighs the temporary endorphin rush. A lie to save face can do irreparable harm to a relationship built on trust and mutual respect.

Yet at the same time, loss, crisis, or injustice tend to place us in greater communion with our spiritual center. Faith is forged in fires of frustration, ones where we discover that letting go when we want to cling tight positions us to receive. And baser appetites are transmuted by passing these tests, either by refusing to allow temptation to lead us astray, or by learning from our mistakes.
