January kicked off with a fraught Mars-Pluto opposition, climaxed to an emotionally deflating Venus-Saturn conjunction, and was bookended by a sun-Pluto conjunction that was as illuminating as it was upsetting. 2025’s first month felt more like a year. Clearer skies lie ahead in February, but we have one more hurdle to jump before the weather starts to ease up a bit: Mars’ second square to Chiron on February 3. Chiron’s status as an asteroid and not a planet relegates its transits to second-page significance in most forecasts. However, the effects of this clash, which exacerbates feelings of inferiority and arouses misplaced anger, might register as headline news during the first week of the month. What was going on for you in mid-October 2024? What endeavor is begging you to try a different approach? We are in the final push of a seemingly never-ending Mars retrograde and confidence is in short supply. However, the warrior planet will be direct by month’s end, so remember that success isn’t out of reach, it’s only out of reach *right now*.
NOTABLE TRANSITS
February 4 – Venus enters Aries: romance is passionate but potentially poorly conceived. Avoid hasty entanglements, as Venus goes retrograde within the month…
February 4 – Jupiter is direct: following a four-month retrograde, and our luck begins to turn around, especially relative to communications and (social) media.
February 14/15– Mercury enters Pisces: words might elude us but there’s poetry here. Don’t explain, paint a picture.
February 18/19 – The sun enters Pisces: tuning in trumps checking out in the coming month. Start conceptualizing the vision you want to launch in the new astrological year.
February 23/24 – Mars is direct: in Cancer, and we’ll need about 9 weeks to work our way out of its post-retrograde shadow. Forward momentum will return by degrees. Pace yourself.
