August Transits & Monthly Overview
Love-planet Venus spends the entirety of August backtracking through self-expressive Leo, so as we enter this month, we’re deep in a reevaluation of our desires. Expect people from your past to make cameos in the coming weeks. Conflicts of interest will test the viability of relationships. Band-aids applied to cover up crises of self-worth will become untenable. Examine where money or pleasure pursuits are being used to avoid acknowledging the root of a problem. On the flip-side, bygone hobbies or passion projects may capture your attention anew. Consider giving a discarded pastime another go!
Our primary homework now lies in doing the reflective work necessary to re-center and re-commit to our own joy. Fortunately, the answers we seek arrive mid-month when the sun and retrograde Venus align, providing direction for heart-felt intention-setting during the August 16 Leo new moon. As if to emphasize the point, the Leo sun will make a series of challenging aspects to the outer planets (Jupiter on 6/7, Uranus on 15/16 and Saturn in 27/28) forcing us to identify where our true motives lie.

27/28 – Mars enters Libra - charm aids in negotiations, but passive-aggressiveness can derail legitimate compromise. Honest communication gets you further than spin.
28/29 – Uranus retrograde in Taurus – Uranus’ backspin provokes inner revolution. Surprises and shocks reshape how we elect to participate in the economy and the world at large.
