April Transits & Monthly Overview

On its face, April’s astrology seems fairly straightforward. The outer planets are posted up in their respective signs. The inner planets make comparatively few ingresses relative to past months. However, April also ushers in eclipse season, kicking off a brand-new series of eclipses on the Aries-Libra axis, the axis of Self and Other. April also features what promises to be an interesting (if not aggravating) Mercury retrograde in mutual reception to Venus. In the coming weeks, we’re pulled between past and future, here and there, yes and no. Decisions made may not stick. Paths tread with honest intent will likely need to be tread again. Think of April as a rollercoaster ride. Can you release control and appreciate the experience, aware that these shifting conditions are temporary? You’ll have a lot more fun if you embrace the absurd twists and turns!

 

NOTABLE TRANSITS:

3/4 – Mercury enters Taurus: Common-sense greases conversational wheels, but once Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow on 7/8, be mindful of a stubborn streak.

5/6 – Sun conjunct Chiron: The past comes back, but not to haunt us. Instead, we recognize adversity as a teacher. Old wounds are reconciled or resolved. Confidence is regained.

11 – Venus enters Gemini: Love affairs are lighthearted, favouring curiosity, experimentation, and witty banter, perhaps at the expense of depth

11/12 – Sun conjunct Jupiter: Growth opportunities engender personal advancement. Luck is on your side, but stay humble in the face of good fortune! 

 20/21 – Sun enters Taurus: A period of cultivation and setting down roots. Our pace slows to accommodate Taurean practices of presence and embodiment.

20/21 – Sun square Pluto: Power struggles and ego trips! Crises trigger confrontations with repressed fears, allowing them to be transmuted

21/22 – Mercury retrograde: Material or communication setbacks challenge our sense of security and force us to rethink our values. The more we refuse to budge, the more difficult our lives will be!
