Virgo new moon reflections:
‘I serve with love and without expectations, I initiate a daily devotion’
Earth to Virgo, a cycle is renewing. Cool green pastures, a cosmic beam of light falling from the heavens through the crown of a divine being, to be shared with the world in service to a higher good. Practical, analytical and loving as the earthen soils.
These are the images I breathe in when I think of Virgo, I can smell the grass, trees and soil, I can feel the support of divine service, I am held by the structure of forethought. Mercurial yet balanced with body and substance. I love Virgos (my soulmate a Virgo), their particulars tickle me, their capacity to think in wide spirals from a place of genuine service surprises me time and again.
This new moon starts a new cycle that I feel we all deeply need. The incredible thing is we get to renew and reset each month, shed the old, bring in the new.
Amidst the chaos this earthy moon brings some reprieve, it is trining Uranus for flashes of insight, rapid change and upheaval to reshape.
Use this time to reflect on where you spend most of your time. If it’s not what you want set intentions to create new habits moving forward as this is a potent time for forming new devotions. Clean out, clear out and declutter, renewing physical surroundings filters into our mental and spiritual spaces. If your mental health is suffering, movement and physical action will help kickstart the rest.
What is the first thing you do each morning? This will set the tone for your day. Where does your attention lie or come back to repeatedly during the day? This will set the tone of your life. If we spend most of our time reading the news or scrolling social media, our worlds will be consumed by it.
As the outside world swirls in many directions we need our balance and groundedness more than ever to be able to hold strong in the shifting chaos, so we can healthily engage from a place of loving service to ourselves and others.
There is currently a lot of power and energy behind the feminine. As well as rage, hurt and transformative tendrils that are showing up in the world. Although on the surface it looks like a suffocation, the undercurrents stir with inherent power. Nothing can stop or silence this as the grips of current structures tighten in the short game of holding on to whatever control it can. The long game is, it can never be suffocated or silenced, it is part of all of us.
Channel your anger and rage into something constructive to avoid internal personal destruction - which is the very energy we do not want to carry forth. This is a great time for underground and open collaborative efforts (like spamming hotlines developed to punish, incarcerate and support the stripping of freedoms).
When we move together we create small waves, which can turn into a tsunami.
My daily devotion: sit in quiet meditation envisioning the desired outcome.
New moon blessings to you all.

Astrologer Colin Bedell says:
One of my favourite lines from Shakespeare is "Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind,/ and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind". Ruled by cognitive Mercury and dedicated to service, when I think about Virgo - I think about love. This lunation’s Moonthly theme and reflection agrees: I serve with love and without expectations.
Which begs the question - What does it mean to serve with love and how does Love look with the Mercury ruled mind? How do we then serve Love without expectations? Does a daily devotion help?
What I know is that the most precious renewable resource we can give is our attention to another. “Attention” is a function of Virgo’s ruling planet Mercury. Virgo is “Small Things Often"; the motto of the Gottman Institute; a research and training institute for couples. When it comes to the many ways we nurture a relationship, this New Moon wants us to focus on how we serve with the love of small things often and with our Mercury ruled attention. It’s up to you, your conscience, and the intentions you set this New Moon to illustrate how small things often look in practice within the culture of your relationships.
Throughout Virgo Season, my Virgo friends and I have made a conscious distinction between expectations and agreement. Virgo Season does want us to love without expectations because they’re resentments and disappointments waiting to happen. Virgo Season wants us to love with agreements. Which means we’ll have to get Mercurial, specific, and vulnerable while we verbally ask for what we want with the people co-regulating the experiences with. And we mutailize our desires carefully to make sure we’re honoring the desires, agency, and boundaries of another. With Virgo’s help, we’ll move from the unspoken, ambiguous expectation to clear “Who will do what by when?” agreements.
There is little uncertainty in my mind about how the context of habits, routines, and daily devotions constructs “Identity”. The more I learn and behave from the idea of atomic habits and the choices we make that create being, the more I realize the quality of our inner agency and resources we have to devote ourselves towards becoming the people the Universe wants us to be. If we want to be people who serve with love and agreement, a daily devotion helps us (re)cognize our minds so that we look at love from the mind and the heart. So that we might see who is in front of us, the small things often that help them feel cherished, and the feelings we feel when we’re with them.
Let the New Moon in Virgo provide a space for you to take a stand towards loving without expectation but with agreements, and illuminate the daily devotions you can lean on for inner-peace.

Aries
Humility, Health, Wellness & Routine
The deeper question is - who are you “being” Aries? The New Moon in Virgo helps you understand your “being” as a prerequisite for the “doing”. As an action-oriented sign, you’ll want to think about what habits, routines, and rituals help you become the leader you’re supposed to be. Through the proactive cultivation of mental, emotional, and physical health.
Taurus
Courage, Worthiness, Charisma & Lovability
It’s time to tell the story of your whole heart, Taurus! The New Moon in Virgo wants you to reveal, not conceal. It wants you to self-disclose, not self-protect. It’ll be imperfect, a bit scary for sure; but this New Moon is helping you develop experiences which instruct how both vulnerability and courage are necessary for the most meaningful life you deserve.
Gemini
Vulnerability, Home, Family & Emotionality
Let’s get emotionally curious, Gemini! The New Moon in Virgo helps you recognize, understand, label, express, and regulate your emotional world. You’ll want to give yourself permission to feel. You’re not an emotion judge, but an emotion scientist. Then you’ll be able to have the most powerful foundation to develop emotional self-acceptance and emotional intelligence.
Cancer
Curiosity, Observation, Language & Active Listening
Clear the air, Cancer! The New Moon in Virgo helps you perceive, speak, and listen very carefully so that you can understand a new idea which has the potential to transform the quality of your life. Dismiss nothing as irrelevant. Question, study, and understand the primary topics the Universe is teaching you so that you can apply it shortly in the months to come.
Leo
Finances, Security, Clarity of Values & Pleasure
What does “Enough” mean to you, Leo? The New Moon in Virgo helps you understand personal, financial, and even relational sufficiency. In other words, what does the feeling of being and having enough provide for you? It’ll give you a lesson to see the inner and outer resources as substantial and connect you to gratitude, generosity, and collaborations.
Virgo
Identity, Desire, Charisma & Authenticity
Happy Birthday, Virgo! The annual New Moon in your sign wants you to share your most specific and fearless birthday wishes. You’ll want to suspend comparison, scarcity, perfectionism, and compliance to center authenticity, sufficiency, and wholeheartedness. This vision will provide a context for you to own your desires and make them happen gloriously!
Libra
Completion, Surrender, Healing & Spiritual Support
Take a deep breath, then release Libra. The New Moon in Virgo brings up all the contexts for closure. From limiting beliefs, habits, patterns, and relationships that keep you mired in shame, fear, and guilt. So that in the space you clear, the Universe can bring about all which keeps you centered in empathy, hope, belonging, and love. May all the healing you deserve be yours!
Scorpio
Friendship, Activism, Convictions & Shared Humanity
It takes a village, Scorpio! The New Moon in Virgo connects you to the people who want to give you as much as you give them. You’ll be tasked with the vulnerability of trusting others and safely relying on the help, empathy, and assistance of others. Lean into the gratitude of their offerings and recognize their loyalty and love to you as the reciprocity you’ve earned.
Sagittarius
Career, Purpose, Integrity & Responsibility
Rise and shine, Sag! The New Moon in Virgo wants your intentions on career. From becoming self-employed to perhaps a leadership opportunity within your current work. This lunation wants your bravest, most audacious ideas on all the ways you can use your natural gifts and abilities to serve the world. Then you’ll want to listen carefully to the direction you receive!
Capricorn
Wisdom, Publishing, Vision & Higher Education
Now’s the time for data-application, Capricorn! The New Moon in Virgo is a demarcation between data-collection to data-application. You’re holding a key learning which needs to be applied in your experience somehow. Ask the Universe for help in operationalizing the education you’ve received so that you might see the applied transformations take place.
Aquarius
Intimacy, Eros, Sexuality & Transformation
The central organizer of your sexual satisfaction is your imagination, Aquarius. The New Moon in Virgo helps you imagine the erotic and, like Esther Perel teaches us, see sex and intimacy as not a thing you do but a place you go. Let the New Moon through your imagination help you understand where you want to go in sex and the kind of aliveness you want to have from it.
Pisces
Romance, Love, Partnerships & Trust
Opposites *do* attract, Pisces. The New Moon in Virgo warns you to see romantic relationships as a container of contradictions that need be managed and leveraged rather than a problem that needs to be solved. It will bring out the best, and sometimes the worst of our personalities; but with the right orientation, systems, habits, and boundaries, love will be given and received.
