Taurus new moon reflection:

With eclipse season revelations still at the forefront, we arrive at the Taurus new moon with a freshness that only comes after a cleansing rainstorm. Add sudden flashes of lightening with Uranian influence too.
 
There has been a lot up in the air, soupily floating about, or knocking on our doors that we have not been able to completely invite in yet. But the nudges towards available abundance have been making surprising and sometimes perplexing visits.
 
That thing that I thought I wanted, is it really what I want now I have more grounded information and clearer feelings? Or that direction I thought I needed to go, is it really the one that aligns with my true core values? Can I throw away the 'needs' and replace them with 'desires'?
 
With opening and closing doors it can be tricky to know which way to go sometimes. But the medicine for shifting tides is to SLOW RIGHT DOWN. We can't lose our footing if we stop, be in stillness and get INTO the body. Does that feel good? Does that make my body relax? Does that bring me joy? Do I feel alive in that version of myself?
 
Core, fundamental values that enliven, enrich, bring pleasure to, open, expand, bring joy - makes it all sound so easy and simple to keep coming back to. But we can find ourselves going down a different track sometimes, it's part of being human. Action towards our goals that align with the above, over doing nothing.
 
Security is in the ability to know how to tap into our deep and wise body and feel what stability feels like from within. What a yes feels like. What a no feels like. Just by observing the expansion and contraction in our throats, hearts, stomachs - Body. It does not have to be any more complicated than that. From that place, new and true intentions can arise.
 
In a shifting and rapidly changing world, Taurus teaches us to slow down, stand steady, put our hands in the earth, plant seeds and revel in the wonder of life itself. Have you ever watched a seed grow into a tree? That is pure and utter, life affirming, magic. Stay a while here.

What is your most precious non-renewable resource? When we think of “Taurus,” we think of our resources. “I have…,” says Taurus proudly. Around a Taurus transit, we tend to think of our financial resources primarily. Ruled by money-making Venus and the most dependable of the earth signs, Taurus helps the zodiac understand our relationship to financial security in powerful ways. It’s important to note that since May 2018, Uranus – the planet of innovation, change and evolution – has explored the grounds of Taurus for the first time since the 1930s. So while it’s important to honor the Bull’s traditional context of finances, we also must let Uranus have us reimagine what this sign has to teach us. Especially if we ask ourselves, “Does money guarantee safety? Are my finances the most precious non-renewable resources I have? What does security truly mean to me?”

Before we dive into those questions, I couldn’t love the New Moon reflection more. I am very grateful that we are prioritizing gratitude for this annual New Moon. When I think of the best of the Bull, I think of a sign that loves to appreciate and savor the resources it already has. In a world where scarcity and excessive consumerism want us to believe that what we have isn’t enough, Taurus fights back. Taurus inspires us to have gratitude for the resources around us and allows us to acknowledge the gift of receiving. With that in mind, let us return to the first sentence. What is your most precious non-renewable resource and are you grateful for it? There’s no right answer. Just yours. When I think of my most appreciated Taurus resource, I think of my time. Even though I’m in the business of time as an astrologer, I sometimes forget time as a resource. When I’m at my happiest, I’m spending my time in alignment with my values and desires. There is a profound peace that envelops me in the present moment when I realize there is nowhere else I would rather be than right here, doing what I love, surrounded by the people I cherish. Other non-renewable resources include our attention. Where do you pay attention and do you spend that time and attention showing gratitude for what is? As I write this, I’m struck by the verbs “spend” for time and “pay” for attention. Even “appreciate.” All three words are used in economic contexts, which reinforces these resource-based ideas to Taurus.

To further these concepts – resource, appreciation, value – I noticed that the chart of the New Moon has the final Mercury-Chiron conjunction in Aries of this year. The previous dates were April 15th and March 20th. I wonder if those two dates helped you see where perhaps you weren’t paying attention to your resources? Maybe the appetite for “more is more, less is a bore…” took you to decisions and outcomes you weren’t thrilled with? The final conjunction between Mercury and Chiron in Aries helps us regulate our adrenaline and appetite for “More!” so we can find appreciation for the magic in the mundane. This New Moon helps us experience a level of peace and pleasure when we show appreciation for the here and now, allowing us to notice the Taurus treasures of time and attention.

What does “safety” mean to you, Aries? The New Moon in Taurus encourages you to dive deep into your finances and ask if what you value is being valued financially too. Take time to reassess your financial goals and make any necessary adjustments to ensure you're on track.
