Sun = Libra 27° 8’ – Scorpio 4° 7’
Moon = Libra — Capricorn
Libra season closes us out with a New Moon on the 21st at 28° 21’ of the socially adventurous air sign. The last decan of Libra coincides with the 4 of Swords, which relates to themes around coming to a truce, an understanding or a compromise. The New Moon, while meeting with a square to Pluto, withstands a great amount of force to maintain an inner balance of harmony and grace. Whatever pressure is felt around the time of the New Moon is an indicator of where the growth is occurring from within. To be able to lay down the sword and the need to be right in an argument shows personal restraint, identifying when a battle is to be won or humbly let go for the sake of all parties is what shows maturity. Libra has a habit of playing devil’s advocate for the sake of poking at all viable angles, but when the Sun and Moon meet with Pluto, what becomes paramount to a relationship is honesty. Strategic communication for the sake of a 'gotcha' moment reaps rewards for the ego for only a short moment.
The development and breakdown, and eventual rebuilding of the ego, is represented through the twelve zodiac signs, with each having three different phases within themselves. As the Sun moves through the sign of balance and the scales, it sees the death of itself on the horizon in Scorpio. Just over a day after the New Moon in Libra, the Sun will ingress into Scorpio on the 22nd/23rd, meeting face to face with its destroyer. Scorpio season marks the astrological season of decay and rebirth, when we show reverence to the natural cycle of life through the appreciation for what we have lost. In many cultures, this is a time to pay homage to ancestors and loved ones who have passed, crossing the rainbow bridge to the other side. Death becomes us in a multitude of ways, on a daily basis. The Sun dies on the western horizon, journeys through the underworld, while the Moon reigns the night skies and is reborn again on the eastern horizon. Just as the Sun has its daily death so do we as humans, plants, and many animals have a 24-hour synodic cycle that brings us into the underworld of non-existing through sleep, while we arise anew each morning, coming back to consciousness with the Sun.
The Sun squares Pluto on the 24th, just after ingressing into Scorpio, ushering in an egoic death that is meant to help remove the old, the stale, the decayed aspects of our persona that no longer fit into the chrysalis of our soul. The first few days of the week may bring up an undeniable desire to rid oneself of dead weight. Consider what in life, whether it is an object, a memory or an outmoded personality trait that still lingers even though you have clearly outgrown it and allow it to remove itself from your life through reverence for what it once brought you.
Neptune ingresses back into Pisces on the same day that the Sun shifts signs, bringing back spiritual insights that have yet to fully integrate within the conscious mind. A quote, a saying or an inspiring message that we might see in passing can sometimes lodge itself into the back of the subconscious, only to rear its head at precisely the right moment, when its worth will be valued. Neptune takes its last sojourn through Pisces up until January 26th for the remainder of our lives. The last time it was in Pisces was in 1862, during the dawning of the spiritualist movement, which saw the slow and gradual expansion of paranormal intrigue. This time around, we have seen a general acceptance of spirituality by way of spirit communication, past lives, channelers, psychics/mediums, intuitives and the like in mainstream media, as well as a scientific curiosity. While Neptune finishes out its time in the dreamy realms of Pisces, take the time to engage in your own paranormal intrigue, open up for communication and watch for the signs.
Monday 20th
Emotional bursts of profound elation, sadness and joy run the gamut today, with the Moon square Jupiter. The sense that we are expanding in areas, pushing limits and crossing boundaries begets healing consequences. Comfort zones are pushed today, and a recognition of where one can implement more or less of them comes into view as we gear up for the New Moon in Libra tomorrow. We may be feeling less accommodating or tense around the need to collaborate, choosing to do the right thing rather than what would be deemed selfish. We may need to ask someone else for compassion, help or a favour, which feels disconcerting but in the end opens any wounds around having to go it alone.

Tuesday 21st
As is typical of New Moons, the pressures of the outside world build up when we are feeling the deep urge to go within. A social New Moon square Pluto craves isolation, and if not isolation, then connections with people that feed the soul. Issues in relationships of all kinds comes to surface for reflection and we are confronted with having to face ourselves as the projector/reflector of behaviors in them. How did we contribute to the dynamic that is at hand? How doour own behaviors determine the relationship itself, and what can we do to change it in a way where everyone feels as though they are being nurtured by the connection?

Wednesday 22nd
Welcome, Scorpio season! The depths become us as the Sun now sees the planet of the underworld, Pluto, in a square forming through the fixed modality. There is an underlying knowing that a purge is about to begin. Letting go, moving away, and death are continually happening in a multitude of ways, whether it’s through relinquishing ownership of an old favorite t-shirt, cancelling a membership or closing a friendship; the evolution of rebirth is constant. Through Scorpio season, we learn to integrate the lessons of rebirth in our daily lives, understanding the profundity of detachment and how it contributes to a more satisfying life. Spiritual concepts circulate back with Neptune retrograding back into Pisces.

Some old habits need to die out, and the awareness of which ones becomes clearer today as Jupiter squares with Chiron. Whatever information comes through shouldn’t be ignored, but seen as a sign that it is divine wisdom coming in through the universe for the purpose of healing. Intuition is very high today, and we may get gut reactions and instincts that kick in out of nowhere. Follow the rabbit, as it surely will lead you to pertinent information towards solutions.

Friday 24th
The Sun meets with the underworld today, and some part of our egoic attachment is removing itself from our sense of self. An old identity is melting away while deep wisdom is gleaned from the philosophy of letting go. Trust in the universe and trust in oneself is an important quality to hold on to during times of shedding, as it helps one to maintain steady footing when the ground beneath seems unstable. There is another self beyond the egoic attachments that we oftentimes hide behind, and that higher self becomes illuminated through letting go of false identities. Pertinent messages of resilience and compassion teach that the true essence of a thing eventually shows itself.

Saturday 25th
A grand water trine is forming, and we are swept up in emotional realms, the intuitive mind and psychic/artistic planes. With no planets in earth to keep us bound by the forces of gravity, we may as though feel we are swimming in an ethereal existence. The desire to transcend the physical and live in a fantasy of dreams is high. The imagination, though constructed through the Saturn in Pisces fishy existence, is curating a magnificent vision. Feel your feelings, let them flow. Take action on your pipe dreams now!

Sunday 26th
The Moon ingresses into Capricorn, and we now try to make sense of the last couple of days, understanding from a logical perspective what had come up and how the New Moon in Libra is manifesting. The wave that we may have felt inundated by has passed, and we’re able to recalibrate. There is also a sense of needing to get structured and organized, focusing on future progress. Today we ask “How?” to the myriad of inspirational moments that transpired.
