Rounding out the last decan of Cancer positions the Sun to illuminate the 4 of Cups energy this week. The 4 of Cups depicts a person sitting by a tree with arms crossed, staring at the three cups in front of them with a bit of apathy, while another cup floats in the ethers on a cloud. The cloud is our imaginations, what we could have had or what we dreamt things to be. Meanwhile, sitting right in front of us, is the reality of the situation. The last decan of Cancer shows us where in our lives we crave for more, wherever 20° – 29° of Cancer is positioned in your natal chart can highlight where we won’t settle for less. This week the quarter Moon in Aries amps up a fire within to take initiative and clear direction based off a deep truth which can’t be ignored. This fire isn’t for the purpose of destruction or combat, but rather to regain our life force. This is a time to heal as the solar rays shine through Cancer, the great nurture and protector of home and hearth, while the Moon, Cancer’s luminary, finds itself in a precarious spot in the roaring fire pits of Aries. In order to regain the energy that is required to continue forging ahead in the good fight, we must at times take on the selfish task of self-preservation.
The quarter moon culminates on the 17th, the same day that Mercury stations retrograde in Leo. Bowing down out of conflict for the time being doesn’t mean giving up, it’s a matter of taking the time to heal our wounds in order to come back even stronger. Mercury stations retrograde in Leo at 15°34’, get ready to see the once magnanimous king retract once strong and forceful words. Mercury will remain retrograde for the next three weeks, slowly inching its way into morning star phase, along with comrade Venus. But before the planet of the mind and travel shifts into Prometheus phase, it humbly drags its tail along the apology tour. Aside from becoming overtly self-aware/self-conscious while Mercury rx flies through the proud lion, it also ushers in conversations that remind us of who we used to be. A nostalgia fills the air of how great things used to be, of a childhood lost in the confines of the glory days. We reflect on the games we used to play and the little joys that made time feel finite. Mercury retrograde will bring to surface ideas and thoughts that help to bring us back to the child within.
Monday 14th
Craving emotional validation and connection, but finding out the best way to go about it is on the docket for today. Moon trine Jupiter craves more nurturing and gentle caresses, but as the Moon squares Venus and opposes Mars, it sheds light on expectations that get in the way of our desires. Mars in Virgo votes for a more grounded, linear process while the Moon in Pisces asks for more imagination and fantasy in the approach. Venus sits as the tiebreaker between the two and vies for all parties to try it all at least once. Confusion over how to get there and which direction to go is the quandary.

Tuesday 15th
A refreshing new start and general sense of contentment colors the day while the Moon connects with the North Node and the Sun, just before moving into hasty Aries. Reactions are hard to control and sometimes they aren’t meant to be! Just be cautious of your brain thinking faster than you can move with Uranus making contact to the spitfire Aries Moon. Little accidents can sometimes be happy accidents and unexpected circumstances have the potential to breed serendipitous moments.

Wednesday 16th
The Moon in Aries meets with some restrictions, generating moments where we have to move through some push back or delays. Breakthroughs come when underlying motives are uncovered and that requires not backing down at the first sign of resistance. A lot can be learned about one’s philosophies through the behaviors they engage in vs the words that they use. The Moon square Jupiter forces an expanded understanding of another’s beliefs regarding relationships and human connection, it doesn’t mean we have to always agree, but if everyone is talking to be heard then who is doing the listening?

Thursday 17th
The Full Moon in Capricorn culminates and then, immediately after, moves into another long
Mercury stations retrograde in Leo, bringing to surface old conversations and topics that can feel like you’re on the school playground again. The last quarter square pops up in Aries, rekindling competitive streaks. Is it you against the world or is it you against yourself? Moon in Aries wants to fight it out and move on, never to return to it again. Let off some of that steam at the gym, on a hike or exerting the extra fire consciously so as not to set fire to an unsuspecting bystander.

Friday 18th
Venus and Mercury are planning, prepping, developing, organizing all the things to ease the Taurus Moon’s mind. Whatever issues that are lurking in the shadows don’t have much of a chance to rattle the calm waters of the bull when a foolproof and well thought out map already exists, we’re already plotting the next move for plan G at this point. General ease and flow rolls through the day, with a side of deep emotional connection. Conversations expose the subterranean feelings that were hiding in a playful way.

Saturday 19th
We’re seeking lightness and fun in contacts today. The Sun and Chiron generate stress between the inner drive for recognition/validation and independence without the need for it. Taking initiative towards securing one’s health and adopting new protocols can come up throughout the time the Sun and Chiron square one another. Themes around mortality, death and rejuvenation inspire us to take a deeper look into how we are independently taking care of our own bodies outside of mainstream healthcare.

Sunday 20th
Emotions are unpredictable today and unexpected shifts in views, ideas and topics of conversation switch at the drop of a hat. Issues around men’s health and wellness can prompt conversations around community care. Mars conjunct the south node in Virgo takes us back in time to understand better the steps in our career that have brought success, potentially revisiting skills and traits that were developed long ago becoming relevant again. Reminisce on childhood platonic friendships, bring back health/workout routines and maybe even reach out to old co-workers for old times’ sake.
