New Moon, new you with an added side of new Gregorian calendar year to boot. 2024 was an 8 year which isn’t always such a walk in the park as it denotes a time when we are collectively generating potent energy which is meant to be utilized during the following 9 year. In numerology, we add up the numbers of the year to get a taste of what the coming year will bring, 2024 being an 8 year is one where we push ourselves to the limit of what we could potentially achieve and unearth the power that lives dormant in our hearts. 2025 will be a 9 year, which implies that socially, culturally and politically we will see structures begin to break apart. The number nine is the last number in the sequence before it starts over to 1 (or 0 technically) and connects to the death card in the tarot. The number nine is a magical number, powerful as it holds all the numbers from 0-8 within it. 2025 will be a year of completion and fresh new beginnings on many fronts for a lot of folks, it is a time when we are meant to purge and let go of old ways of being before we enter into the 1 year of 2026. In numerology you can also calculate your own personal year number with your birth date, this number reflects the types of themes that you may encounter during the new year. To calculate your personal year number just add up your birth month and birth date to the current year.
Here’s an example for a birthdate of May 14th:
5 (May) + 14 + 2025 =
5 + 5 + 9 = 19
1 + 9 = 10
1 + 0 = 1
New Moon Capricorn at 9° 44’ at 2:26 pm PST meets at the top of the week. This New Moon features a loose square to the nodes, a sextile to Saturn and a semisquare to Venus. The connection to the two planets that deal with justice, structure, fairness and the courts, sowing seeds within these facilities opens a new way of judgement, analysis and critique. A new standard is being set when it comes to how justice plays out collectively. Venus is in Aquarius for just a couple of days and as such, is a social justice warrior and sees her duty to the people rather than a strict organization, her desire to bridge the gap between any differences within the social fabric aids in stabilizing a new form of compassion amongst peers. We can begin to see allies where we thought there were none or form new bonds with people across the political spectrum for the betterment of all. Saturn sextile the New Moon in Capricorn performs the managerial skills necessary to confirm a practice which helps to build more stability within the self.
Venus ingresses into Pisces on the 2nd/3rd intimating more tenderness in our lives. Empathy, compassion and a bleeding heart makes it nearly impossible to say 'no' to our lovers. Venus dreams of mermaids and uninhibited expressions of devotion while in the dual fish sign, Venus lavishes in her exalted placement in Pisces. While Venus was in Aquarius she opened herself up to the needs of the broader human collective, seeing all as equal and positioning the needs of the group over the needs of the few. While in Pisces, the theme of open source compassion does continue, but the way in which Venus offers healing guidance is pinpointed and non-judgmental. In truth, there can actually be a lack of judgement with Venus in Pisces as all forms of artistic expression are seen as a beautiful display of source.
Monday 30th
A quiet moment to sit and reflect on the year. The New Moon in Capricorn culminates today, creating much needed space for introspection on our lives. Capricorn is also a nurturer in her elevated form, being a feminine earth sign she is always mentally processing how to be more effective at her underlying job which is the overseer of all living beings. Mercury brings in some deep wisdom regarding how to navigate conflicting conversations. Great information may come through so be available with listening ears. Music can be a very healing and relaxing art form for today.
New Moon Capricorn at 2:26 pm, Moon sextile Saturn, Mercury trine Chiron.
Tuesday 31st
We kind of want to just say to hell with our responsibilities and be gone with all duties for the week. It's hard to concentrate as our attention is pulled in a million different directions. Friends come out of the woodwork left and right and we genuinely feel quite positive about branching out of our social spheres to enter in a new shared experience. The Moon is square Chiron, which can contribute to the flippant attitude towards responsibilities, intentionally ignoring what we know is the proper or appropriate thing to do. Rebel against the mundane.
Moon square Chiron, trine Uranus rx, sextile Neptune.
Wednesday 1st
Hello new Gregorian calendar year! Moon enters Aquarius and thus meets with the Planet of the underworld, Pluto and forms an opposition with Mars, which is still retrograde and conjuring all kinds of repressed anger. There is a lot of space for dynamic social engagement that deepens the intimacy levels in our acquaintanceships along with our close contacts. Don’t be surprised if you are met with unexpected tantrums or outbursts as the Pluto/Mars opposition is rearing its head throughout today and tomorrow. Remember to do all the things that help you to remain chill and unbothered while everyone else stews with in the feels OR go ahead and join in the catharsis!
Moon > Aquarius at 2:49 am, sextile NN, conjunct Pluto, opposite Mars rx.
Thursday 2nd
This is a bit of an intense day with the Moon forming a trine to Jupiter, which is retrograde and expanding our sense of pride. The Moon also squares Uranus causing us to feel isolated or left out of social graces, and with Mars and Pluto culminating in an opposition today, we are at the whim of peoples' attitudes of grandeur. Harness the potency of Mars opposite Pluto by pushing yourself just a little further than your comfort zone. It will help you to expand and evolve your tolerance to new levels.
Moon trine Jupiter rx, sextile Chiron, sextile Mercury, square Uranus rx, voc for 11h09m, Mars rx opposite Pluto.
Friday 3rd
Like salve on a wound, the Moon entering Pisces and conjunct Venus offers quiet respite and sensitivity, which is a welcomed energy from the previous Mars/Pluto dramas. The protective walls go up due to sensitivities being heightened. We may actually allow the flow of emotions to come through, not the reactive explosive ones but the underlying true emotions that reside below the surface. Feeling quite vulnerable and raw, it is the perfect time to connect with those we love to lend an ear and relate with another on a deep level.
Moon > Pisces at 7:24 am, conjunct Venus.
Saturday 4th
The Moon is meeting up with the Jupiter/Saturn square that culminated a week and a half ago. It can come as a sobering moment, the Moon conjunct Saturn is always a time when we are being called to sit with our own insecurities and face the reality of any given situation. We may also be feeling a bit down and maybe humdrum after the excitement of the holidays but with Mars trine the North Node, there is potential energy surfacing offering new/fresh ways of initiating one’s own artistic expression. Sun sextile Saturn makes it annoyingly clear what the ‘right’ thing to do is.

Sunday 5th
Less talking, more doing. We need to let the energy out now that the Moon has left the docile Piscean energy and into the tour de force of Aries, along with making a trine to Mars. We are fully committed to taking the necessary steps towards progress and the future. The Moon square Mercury isn’t much for talking or planning, so be sure to go with flow or any unexpected changes in plans due to miscommunication – hence, less talking and more doing. Play, explore, seek adventure and expansion today.
