Venus Enters Virgo

Venus in Virgo is a Venus in fall, a Venus that may at times be unaware of its romantic strengths or weaknesses. This Venus is Mercury-ruled. It expresses itself through mental means, acts of service, or by fixing what others want solved. It is actually a highly skilled Venus, but in an ideal world, service is reciprocal, and during Venus’ transit through Virgo we often find that our skillfulness creates openings (or excuses) for others to drop the ball, put in half the effort, or to leave problems in our “capable hands”. People trust in our competence; that’s a compliment! However, relying on others IS trickier now, as we can overdo the business of care and then wonder why no one is stepping up to help us in a pinch. It doesn’t make matters easier that, should they step up, our instinct is to nit-pick their obliviousness to the finer details!

This is where Venus’ alignment with the South Node can be revealing. We are at the very tail end of the South Node’s 18-month stint in Virgo – it will ingress into Leo on July 26/27. This whole cycle has been about discovering that our utility does not lie exclusively in what we can fix, provide, or sacrifice for others, but rather that we are worthy of love regardless of how “perfect” we are. This conjunction creates an opportunity for anagnorisis, finally hammering home a long-overdue realization in self-love - and just in time for Venus and Mars' square-off later this month!
