Venus Enters Capricorn
Venus Enters Capricorn
24th PST 8:26 AM / 25th AEDT 3:26 AM
Venus enters Capricorn, marking roughly a quarter of its underworld passage complete. The planet of love and beauty began its decent near the end of November, when, moving to within ten degrees of the sun, it became imperceptible as a morning star. Now, it continues to trail the sun, moving ever closer to their January 6/7 alignment in Capricorn.
Sun-Venus conjunctions are not especially rare. They occur every year, sometimes twice a year, as part of Venus’ synodic cycle, during which plotting each Sun-Venus conjunction geometrically famously traces out a star in the sky. This upcoming transit is considered a 'superior' conjunction, which can be conceptualized as Venus in its 'full moon' phase. Although we cannot see her visually, something Venusian is culminating or coming to full fruit on this date, something relative to Capricorn themes of ambition, structure and commitment. It could point to an irrefutable acknowledgement of your own self-worth, as the superior sun-Venus conjunction signifies maturation, and Capricorn is the sign of maturity. A mature understanding of our desires and needs, and knowing how give ourselves the love and validation that we have previously sought from others would be apt. However, Sun-Venus is a naturally expressive placement, one where radiating confidence comes easily – a quality which naturally attracts romantic and platonic companionship. We haven’t had a superior conjunction of the Sun and Venus in Capricorn since January 9, 2018. Consider what was happening in your life around this date to draw parallels.
Venus won’t be alone in its trek through Capricorn. It will be joined by the sun, Mars, and Mercury, as well as the asteroids Vesta and Juno before it ingresses into Aquarius on January 17/18, 2026.
