Mercury Enters Capricorn
Mercury Enters Capricorn
1st PST 1:11 PM / 2nd 8:11 AM AEDT
After three weeks in Sagittarius, Mercury becomes the final planet to enter Capricorn, joining a packed sign. It’s a new year, and our focus is fixed on the horizon. Who are we becoming? What practices should we adopt to get ourselves where we want to go? Most importantly, who do we *think* we are?
Mercury loves a list, and Capricorn loves structure. Is this a time to set intentions? A time to make new year’s resolutions? Let’s just say, it can’t hurt, but don’t hold yourself to the contract you make with your future self today. Priorities WILL shift in the coming weeks, and there’s no sense in creating extra stress for yourself during what should be a quiet part of the year. Still, the universe looks fondly on concrete procedures and thought processes now. If you require extra stamina to commit to that health regimen or tackle that new hobby, you will have it, at least for a while (i.e. until sticking to it ceases to make sense.)
On the communication front, Mercury in Capricorn favors no-nonsense, diplomatic chats. Our speech isn’t super passionate or impulsive now, which can assist us in addressing tough topics, in teaching or making presentations, or in negotiating smart agreements. However, with the Sun, Mars, and Venus already in Capricorn, dialogues may slant TOO far in the direction of what is wise or sensible at the expense of what is being felt and experienced emotionally in real time. As you go about your business, remember that you are still a soul having a dynamic exchange with reality, and the unique, profound, and sometimes unsettling emotions that arise in that exchange aren’t evidence of weakness but proof of your humanity.
