Sun Enters Virgo

Sun Enters Virgo
22nd PDT 1:34 PM / 23rd AEST 6:34 AM
The sun enters Virgo and a new moon follows shortly thereafter, kicking off the season on a punchy note. The sun now answers to Mercury in Leo, which will clear its post-retrograde shadow in a few days, and likewise enter Virgo on September 2, whereby the momentum will dramatically pick up.
Virgo is a particular sign. When the sun is in Virgo, we seek to maximize our potential, often through self-improvement initiatives, restructuring our habits or getting organized. The goal is to meet or exceed our personal best. We raise our standards.
However, this year Virgo season is also eclipse season, and eclipses are catalysts for change. So, the ultimate question to be asked now is “what is beyond my control?” Part of the sun in Virgo anxiety is that if we’re not performing with a high degree of precision, we will be taken less seriously. Yet the universe may not be demanding our meticulous attention to detail now. It might instead want us to look at the details from a different angle. Instead of following the perfect game plan, the universe may be calling us to abandon the game plan.
As the sun moves deeper into Virgo and the eclipses come calling, we’ll realize that we can help others more expertly if we stop worrying about being right. At this point, the work that we do and don’t have capacity for will clearly reveal itself. While the eclipses do promise shakeups and breakdowns, there might also be a palpable sense of relief in admitting that we need new solutions or at the very least, different coping mechanisms. We’ll get an assist throughout the month courtesy of Uranus’ sextile to Neptune, affirming that sometimes reimagining our ideal is the best way to tackle a problem.
