Sun Enters Libra
Sun Enters Libra
22nd PST 5:44 / 22nd AEST 22:44
The sun enters Libra in-between eclipses: poetry in motion. There’s something lyrical about striving for balance amidst chaos. The equinox reflects this aspirational equilibrium in the division of night and day. Yet the sun’s ingress five days post-Pisces lunar eclipse and ten days shy of the Libra solar eclipse indicates that we’re exploring the ragged fringes of what is just, honest and virtuous.
The irony of this particular Libra season is that there is very little harmony to be found now! The Libra sun inclines us to weigh our options, questioning dualistic notions of 'good' and 'bad' or 'right' and 'wrong'. As the eclipses are demonstrating, life is more complex than that. However, the sun is shortly to align with the lunar South Node, making reductivism a risk. Whether we’re experiencing relationship or career shakeups, crises of faith or perhaps navigating situations so intangible that we can’t even articulate them, something is clearly not working – that’s why it is crumbling in our hands. And yet, we’re still compelled to make excuses for it, and in the process, to oversimplify circumstances that resist simplification. Herein lies the problem: avoidance cannot foster peace.
The solution for anxiety may seem antithetical: lean into the polar aspect of Libra and manifest the assertive and courageous qualities of Aries. This backdoor hack will grant us access to Libra’s higher attributes, allowing us to personify the balance through deliberate *action*. The Libra sun encourages us to cultivate respect through diplomacy, but a true diplomat seeks compromise in the spirit of a mission. This is the medicine of the season: no negotiation can begin without first stating what you stand for.
