Sun Enters Aquarius
Sun enters Aquarius
20th PST 6:08 / 21st AEST 1:08
The sun enters Aquarius today, mere hours before transformation-harbinger Pluto follows suit. We might liken the sun’s passage through fixed air to the intricacies of a clock’s inner workings, and here is when the year’s cogs truly begin to turn. This is a month where wheels are moving within wheels. Latches are catching and releasing. Each astrological sign functions as a reaction to the sign that precedes it, so while the Capricorn sun prizes preservation and fortification, the Aquarius sun is oriented to spiritual, intellectual, technological, and (most importantly) communal progress. Innovation is our aim, the clock is ticking, and we have the sense that if we’re not moving forward, something is broken within the mechanism.
Having just connected with Pluto on Capricorn’s final degree, the sun will make NO planetary conjunctions during its time in Aquarius. However, its squares to Jupiter on January 26/27 and to Uranus on February 8/9 can see our ego caught in the crosshairs of community expectations. To accept or decline an offer? To demolish what we’ve built out of frustration or humbly accept notes? Try to move WITH change instead of framing it as something that is happening TO you. How you channel your energy now is key. After all, Aquarius is the sign of the water bearer, and water is a renewable resource.
If you are at a loss and in need of inspiration, consider Arthur C. Clarke’s famous quote, “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Before you go getting upset about the avenues that are closed to you, consider your options. Magic is in the eye of the beholder, and one who is in the habit of “beholding” tends to see tools where others only see objects or obstacles.
