The stoic father of time is now officially positioned in the cardinal fire sign, Aries, for the next two years. There was a short stint where Saturn entered the ram from June – August of last year and this window gave a peek into where we will be putting in the majority of the work and learning most of our lessons, while Saturn travels through the self-motivated and independent sign of Aries.
This particular Saturn ingress doesn’t come in quietly as it also hits the 0° mark with Neptune, ushering in hard truths with practical guidance that will indefinitely aid in our self-development. Saturn rewards hard work and dedication, while also not-so-gently opening our eyes to what areas of our lives require more elbow grease in order to see results.
We are given an opportunity to start fresh with a new sense of determination. The ideal self is slowly being fortified through the Neptunian influence with thicker skin and more direction. At times, we may find we take a harder stance towards others, the blending of boundaries and empathy swing like a pendulum while we find steady footing with an ever-changing shoreline. This is not the time to give in to a negative mindset and let self-doubt or self-pity take hold, Saturn won’t allow it. It is, however, the time to build upon the strengths that you already have. We can’t just hope that something different will change in our lives without putting in the due effort for those changes to occur. Saturn in Aries says If “No one is going to save me, I have to save myself.”
On a collective level, we may find the tone shifts significantly with the transition from Saturn in Pisces to Aries, there isn’t as much patience for dwelling, nostalgia, and self-pity or self-limiting beliefs. Commiserating through how hard life is or through despair and victimhood is not as attractive as it once was. What we do find liberating now are stories about how people fought through their difficulties and rose above crushing oppression. The hero’s journey comes back online to show what we, as humans, are capable of when tested to the ultimate limit.
