Mercury enters Sagittarius, marking its third visit to Sagittarius’ 0 degree due to its retrograde spin. Its first two passes were on October 29 and November 18. Look back to these dates to make personal connections. Is a story coming to a close? We’re still working our way through the tail end of Mercury’s post-retrograde shadow, which will complete on December 16/17. If you haven’t achieved your closure yet, it’s coming!
Mercury will transit the sign of the archer for the next three weeks, but interestingly, it will have comparatively few planetary 'conversations.' A sextile to Pluto, for the first few days of its transit, positions us for intense discussions about controversial topics, not to stir up drama, but to get to the truth of a matter. However, from December 16 to December 26, Mercury is left to its own devices, making no Ptolemaic aspects to the inner OR outer planets. Following Mercury’s retrograde, we need a break from bad news and tough conversations. And while Mercury in the sign of philosophizing CAN make us preachy, we’re tired of trying to convince others to see our point. We’re finally content to pursue our curiosities and choose our own adventures, without seeking permission or soliciting travel companions. And THIS is where Mercury in Sagittarius can turn your reality around, because it is in this way that we come back to ourselves after several emotionally trying months. When we reconnect to our enthusiasm and inspiration, we find our fire and lock onto our next target!
